Some of you guys, I suspect, are full of baloney. But you're also showing how low a level you'll sink to to nail girls if the only ones you can do are so drunk that they're not aware of what they're doing. These stories, by the way, aren't "hilarious," Junkyard and Valkyrie. They're actually quite sad.

Smokin Dope, I've said this to you before on the subject of train-running, which you continue to brag about like it's an accomplishment. Any girl who's letting a bunch of guys do that has something very wrong with her. Girls aren't built to do that, emotionally or physically. Women who let guys run the train are likely either drunk or have been damaged by previous horrible things that cause them not to have any self-esteem or ability to discriminate between healthy and unhealthy intimacy. There are guys who can justify it in their minds, obviously, and I'm sure there may be women who behave as if they're having great fun at that activity. Talk to someone at your nearest university's rape crisis center and find out what that sort of sexual activity means on an emotional level to the women who participate in it. It's not good.

As far as twosomes or tag-teams are concerned, at least where you're involved, Smokin D, I've never read anything you've written that indicates you're interested in ladies for any other reason than sex or what you can get over on them for. I strongly suspect, assuming you're not totally making this story up, that you somehow hook up with ladies who have the lowest possible self-esteem and standards. Someday I hope for their sakes that you'll grow up and develop character, a heart, and decency. Until you do, I hope very much that everyone's using lots of protection against venereal diseases and unwanted pregnancies.

Actually, what those of us who're grown up enough to see this from a slightly wider perspective are objecting to isn't the sex. It's the using that's going on. The gotta-get-ass-no-matter-what-the-cost attitude toward women. Sex is fine. Being used is what does lasting harm. Sure, the ladies may seem to put themselves in that situation willingly--and here I'm talking mostly about pairs who engage in threesomes but possibly even train-runners--but most of them may not yet even be self-aware enough to know they're behaving in a way that's not psychologically healthy for them down the road.

I find a threesome a lot less troubling than a train-running, frankly. And you've done previous bragging about train-running, Smoking D. It's fairly easy if you think about it from this perspective. Imagine yourself the father of, say, an 18-year-old girl. Or the older brother of one. Or just a good friend who likes and respects women. Now imagine how you'd feel if you learned your daugher/sister/friend had gotten wasted at a party the night before and had a group of 5 or 6 guys have sex with her, one after another, when she was too wasted to know what she was doing. Now can you see how it might be perceived as an intimate activity that's not entirely healthy for her? Back when I was teaching, I had a young student to whom this happened. She was not quite 15. Got drunk at a party. And basically got nailed by every football player who was there, too. That child was never the same after that event.

Trust me. I'm not wrong. You're just not old or smart enough yet to know that.

I know there are plenty of girls who love "the dick," as you put it. And that's perfectly fine. It's also perfectly fine for them to get drunk. Some of you guys are so clueless here that you think this is a simply a discussion about whether or not women like sex or whether or not I approve of young people making choices to have sex when and how they want to. It's much more complicated than that and, again, I'm really pointing the finger at alcohol.

The research will back me up on this, Pipe Dreams. Combining a trashed girl and a horny young man frequently ends up with a girl who later fully admits she wasn't really capable of making that decision or saying no like she would have if she'd been sober. Is that still her responsibility and her choice? Yes, it is. She's the one who got drunk and put herself into that situation. But the statistics will bear me out here. Ask any campus crisis center. Any rape crisis center. Any young women who've been in these situations. For that matter, talk to psychologists and psychiatrists who treat college-aged people or read some books about the heavy role alcohol plays in what college-aged girls later term "regrettable sexual activity." This is a huge problem on college campuses. And if you think women who're falling-down drunk are in a position to accurately judge whether or not they want to "put out," then you're either very desperate, very in denial, or very dumb and frighteningly callous. By the way "a lot" is two words, not one.

Again, no one's bashing you. And like I said above, I really don't have much of a problem with a threesome. I totally hear you that there are girls who "want the dick." They were around 25 years ago. And they'll be here 25 years from now, too. You just might want to look real hard at whether a wasted-drunk girl who's running the train for a group of six guys is actually experiencing desire and enjoyment or just an inability to use her discretion to make a sensible, conscious choice. That's all I'm saying. Most girls who look back on such an event when they're sober confirm that they weren't experiencing the former.
