parents and religion, when you're different
I come from a similar background where both my parents were Catholics and do the normal church on Sunday mornings. They were never strict on me besides that they wanted me to go to church with them. I did this until I graduated from High School to give it a shot for them.
As I've gotten older I changed more into the 'If there is a God, Oh well, I'll enjoy my freewill' type of lifestyle and really do not follow any Catholic beliefs. My parents run a sort of 'don't ask don't tell' policy and I've been nothing but respectful about religion to them. I show respect to them and their religion and they give me space to do my own thing.
It seems to me that you are using your 'Satanism' almost as a weapon against your mother. She may truly believe you are going to hell. Sometimes it's better to remain silent about something than confront it face on.
Now that the cat is out of the bag, I'd say you should sit down with your mother and tell her how you feel religiously. But be respectful! Just because you may think that Christianity is complete BS doesn't mean you have to tell her that. Treat it like politics.
"1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
3. When in anotherā??s lair, show him respect or else do not go there."
I guess my advice is actually summed up by the 1st three rules of your religion!
