I read the Satanic Bible way back when (about the time I was booted out of Catholic school ) and do admit that portions of it made a lot of sense. But, then again, it was pretty much all common sense to me anyway. My conclusion was that I did not need Christianity to tell me how to be a good person, nor did I need Satanism to tell me to follow common sense. I could do these things on my own without subscribing to another's code of conduct. Following my own instincts made me a far better person than simply adhering to a set of rules imposed on me by others.

My take on your situation Samwhore, is this: When I was reading the Satanic Bible, and the Necronomicon, etc, it was largely due to rebelling against the crap I was being force fed in Catholic school. It sounds like you come from a pretty strictly religious family and my guess is that your interest in Satanism is fueled by the same fire that fueled mine. But go back and read the Eleven Satinic Rules and the Nine Satanic Sins. Do you really need a religion to tell you these things. Calling it "Satanism" will just create a lot of friction in your family. Calling it "common sense", however, will go a lot further towards preserving your relationship with your parents.

That's just my 2 cents, and I may be way off, but think about it anyway.
