Hello,

First time grower, just planted 17 germinated seeds in the pots two days now.

Running under a 1000 watt MH bulb, a few questions.

How high should the light be from the plants ideally, as there is a huge amount of heat being created but i have an 18inch Honeywell "Super Power" Commercial grade fan running 24/7 hoping to compensate a bit.

When should i expect to see them come through the soil, extremely worried the light might actually be killing them.

Switching to 2, 1000 watt HPS lamps for flowering.

Thinking about starting a grow log..

if what ur sayign iis 2.5 meters high , then idkhowin the hell ur gona grow it cause im growing ultra ahze right now and i even put them in flowerin a little early and theyre 4 ft

The size is about 8ft in length 4.5ft in width and about 2.5 metres high.

Slightly raised platform kind of area inside the room not included in the length its about 2ft wide and about 4ft up from the floor.)

Bit of a crush i realise.

Im growing: Arjan's Ultra Haze No:1 ( Toked it at the 2006 cup)
Kali Mist ( Toked it in Amsterdam)
G13xHashplant ( G13 amazing strain.)

Also Im not entirely sure how much i should be watering them at this point?

dont use the mh on seedlings you will fucking fry them buy some cfls for the first 2-3 weeks after sprouting

do you have some sort of fan pulling out all the stale air from the area?

normally i keep seedling about 2 feet from the light for the first couple days then move the light closer daily until i see them wilt a bit then raise it about 3" from there.

the fan you use may be to powerful for the seedling so dont put it right in thier direction, i know the fan your using i have about 3 of them in my shop and they throw HUGE amounts of air even on low.

seedling can take up to 7-10 days before they show through the surface, all my seeds popped one time except one and it took 4 day for it to show up.

Still no sign of the seedlings showing through the soil, been in there 5 days now.

Causing me serious worry, there about 2.5 feet from the 1000. This Ok?

turn the light off its just wasting your money, when you see a sprout come up then turn it on, i usually water with about 4oz of water every few days, what you want is moist but not wet soil.

you can do it just motivate yourself

Any idea what i should do for lighting in the meantime, or should i leave it with just the room light (normal bulb) on for a few days see if that works to get them out the pot.

Use a 2 bulb shop light or some cfl's. They are cool and you will get better sprouts than with than inferno your blasting at them.That 1000 watter can do some serious damage to those newborns.Like as soon as they wake,their baked!I could get some ventilation in that room.Your gonna play hell keeping that space cool. Save ya $$$$ and get a smaller light to get them started with.
