6 most annoying things kids say and how to respond
I personally found the most annoying thing to be the repeated "Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom look at me, Mom, Mom, Mom, hey Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom!" litany. This was a technique he used when he was, oh, between 3 1/2 and 5 and, foruntately, it didn't continue. He only did it when I was trying to concentrate on other things temporarily and a simple, "That's great, honey. I see you" usually did the trick. But it still really got on my nerves. I see moms sometimes in at the grocery store and hear their kids doing that and am very glad mine got past that stage!

I don't know how to teach a toddler or a child patience. They just have short fuses, as a rule, and I'm not sure the area of the brain that controls patience is even developed to the point that they can learn it. Have you read about ways to help raise a patient child? I'd like to know them so I can help with that when I have grandchildren--or, possibly pretty soon here, a niece or nephew if my younger sister gets pregnant this year. With our son, he got more patient as he grew up and his attention span got longer. But when he was small, it was a lost cause. Or at least it seemed that way!

6 most annoying things kids say and how to respond
The most annoying thing my daughetr says is "Please" . Don't get me wrong, for a 3yo my daughter is unbelievably polite and that's a great thing. When she wants something she will always say "please". When she gets something she will always say "thank you". We, my wife and I, always get compliments on how polite she it and we think it's great.
The problem is that she expects to get what she wants when she says "please". The conversation goes something like this:
"Daddy, can I please have a cookie?"
"No honey, you've already brushed your teeth and it's time for bed"
"PLEASE"
"No, you can not have a cookie"
"But daddy, I said the nice word"
nice word, of course, is "please"
"No, you can't have a cookie!"
"PLEASE!"
"No"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"PLEASE!"
"Ahhhh, where's your mother?"

Show him patients when you think he should be displaying patients.
You are the best teacher.
