Hi all. N00bie grower here. On week 3, and am totally fascinated by the whole scientific aspect of it. Oddly enough, I don't smoke, but my fiance smokes enough to make up for me. I originally started growing to save money (we're in the process of buying a house). Now I'm totally obsessed with it and spend all my spare time reading and in my growroom. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to do everything I'd like to do, but I'm happy with the progress I've made.

I used to smoke nonstop, but since I had my kids something in my body chemistry changed, and now it just makes me paranoid as hell. However, I'm going to sample this crop I've got going now. It just wouldn't be right to put so much of my body, heart and soul into something and not sample it, dig?

Anyhow, I'm more of a reader than a poster. I've been reading for a couple of weeks. I love looking at everybody's grow logs. It's inspiring.

    Have a Happy.

Congrats on the house... still hunting, or have you found one you like? I have some suggestions... under-house garage with an electric opener=SOOO easy to load and unload bags o' dirt on the stealth!! Nice dry basement for growing... attics are not so good if you live in a state where they like to fly around doing thermal imaging...outdoor garden space to explain your recycling bin full of fertilizer bottles... ya dig?

Thanks for the welcome Stinky. Er, may I call you Stinky? LOL.
Yeah, we found a house. We're old (I'm 37, he's 39), and so's our house. Built in 1913, lots of gorgeous woodwork, and a nice even temperature basement with a root cellar type room where I plan to set up my new garden. No garage, but I can actually drive into the backyard and right up to the basement door LOL! We're just waiting to see if the seller is going to accept our offer. We'll be moving right around the time I harvest this grow, so I'll have some challenges being stealthy. Oh yeah, I plan on having an outdoor garden anyway. The house has a huge backyard. I've already bought my seeds. Broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, and some herbs...basil, lavender, chives and parsley to start. I don't anticipate too many probs with neighbors...it's a quiet older neighborhood, not a lot of traffic, surrounded by businesses, so it's quiet after 9 pm. I'm so excited I could spit. Sorry, I tend to run on when I get jazzed about something.

I hear ya on the switch up of strains. I'm growing some Indica right now. I'm hoping that will do the trick. My fiance likes the Sativa jitters. He likes to get baked and clean the house. Me, I like to get baked and watch PeeWee's Playhouse, and Full Metal Alchemist. I like couchlock. I can't handle the heartracing and heavy breathing I get from Sativa. Then again, he's more type A anyway. I'm a lazy little chick. I like to putter with my plants, make my jewelry and surf the net. He likes to clean, and GET THINGS ACCOMPLISHED. heeheee. It makes for a good balance. I teach him to chill, he teaches me to get off my ass.

Anyhow, thanks for the welcome. I'll probably post some pics of my grow later. I'm not sure. I'm kind of bashful. It's such an amateur looking setup right now...sigh.

    Nah post pics!!!
Best to be bashful than post pics of like 2 scraggly plants like they are the fucking Redwood Forest like *some* people around here who like to steal geranium pots from their neighbors and use the dirt to grow the ganj!!!!
    What region are you in?
I'm in the Northeast, and so is liberiamom, who is another cool chicklet you will meet soon.
We are planning a greenhouse-erection party in a couple months for our legal crops... one at each of our respective homes!
If the root cellar still has a dirt floor, cementing it is going to be your first job. Dirt breeds thrips! And thrips just... breed... and eat... and breed... ugh./
I can't handle sativas either. I already have anxiety and it just puts me over the edge. Gotta have the chill effect... what kind of jewelry do you make? You sound a lot like me! I get all crafty sometimes. I just turned my old growroom into a workshop since I have an apartment for rent on the first floor of my house that has the cellar door in it, and I can't have any tenants poking around going....ooooh.... what's this? lol had to exile myself to the attic for a couple years!
Hey cruise on over to growing and let's see some pics! I have a log in indoor that is getting a little out of control... like kudzu vine... lol

Sorry it took me so long to answer, I'm in California this week with my fiance on business, so I've been, well, busy.

Best to be bashful than post pics of like 2 scraggly plants like they are the fucking Redwood Forest like *some* people around here who like to steal geranium pots from their neighbors and use the dirt to grow the ganj!!!!
LOL! I'm not even going to try to speculate on the origin of that comment. I only have 4 plants right now, but I promise you, I paid for all my equipment, fair and square.

    What region are you in?
I'm in the midwest...zone 5 I believe. I would tell you a state, but I'm paranoid. My fiance's ex girl and his ex best friend are on the warpath for me, so I'm trying to maintain a low profile lately. Let's put it this way.. college football is a very very big deal in my state, and our symbol looks a lot like a pot leaf.

If the root cellar still has a dirt floor, cementing it is going to be your first job. Dirt breeds thrips! And thrips just... breed... and eat... and breed... ugh./
Hmmm...I may rethink this then. I don't feel like pouring cement. I'll probably just section off a piece of the regular already finished basement. Thanks for the tip!

[QUOTE]gotta have the chill effect... what kind of jewelry do you make? You sound a lot like me! I get all crafty sometimes/QUOTE]

Hemp bracelets and necklaces of course! With gemstone beads, like uncut amethyst and citrine and others. Earrings too. I'm crafty too...I mess around with all kinds of stuff, paper and collage work, mixed media, clay and paint etc. I'm crafty mostly because I'm cheap. I'm always trying to "Do It Yourself".

I'm going to post pics when I get back to my nameless midwest football obsessed state. Hopefully my plants won't be dead by then. I don't have anyone who can look after them.

I'm def going to jump over and check out your grow. See you!
