Help for a first timer.

Im sick and tired of buying bud from others, so as suggested im going to make an attempt at growing. i know i want to plant 3 different strains. I much perfer SATIVA to INDICA, but i was thinking i want a half half as well.
Is there any experienced growers that can help me out with what to get for a minimalist (cost wise) indoor setup and what too look for etc... i really would love to save the money and grow, so please, can anyone help me out with my problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :rastasmoke:
