Colbert vs. O'Reilly
colbert is a character. Might be his real name, but he plays a character on it. See him interviewed elsewhere and he acts a bit differently. As far as I know reilly acts like a dick all the time.

Colbert vs. O'Reilly
The whole point is that Stephen Colbert based his character and his show mostly on O'Reilly and his ilk. See Rush Limbaugh.
The Colbert Repor(t) is fucking hilarious, but it's pure satire...as was said above, the talk show host Colbert portrays on his show is just that, a portrayal. Stephen Colbert the man is simply a comedian who's done some great work over the years, and continues to do so.
I expect their meeting to be absolutely hilarious, practically the opposite of what happened when Bill showed up on the Daily Show.

everyone keeps saying that Colbert plays a character. YES, that's a given.
but his character is indeed flawed.
he controls the convo w/ factless wit
and barely lets any guest get talking points
Colbert had the POTENTIAL to be great

to anyone who thinks colbert doesn't let people get their word across, i disagree. His making fun of the issue just makes the issues better expressed, unless it's a crazy right wing bastard in which he just makes fun of them. But of course he doesn't let anyone get a point in, that's exactly what O'Riely does. But to say that there is a huge difference in the shows because colbert's show is just a joke and all opinion and no fact, that is exactly what O'Riely's show is. Colbert doesn't take himself that seriously, you'd know this if you saw him in his second city days when he'd come talk to the fans after performances.

Colbert vs. O'Reilly
Honestly, I think stephen colbert is hilarious.....but he can't do a 'face off' type of thing like with Bill O Reilly.
Stephen Colbert gets flustered alot in tight situations and isn't always on the winning end. I have seen womens rights activists tear him a new one...not to mention the pen&teller book thing.
I hope for Stephen to pull it out. If I ever saw bill O Reilly on the street, i would probably call him a pussy and challenge him to a fight....and I am conservative!

Colbert is good at his job of entertaining the masses and O'Rielly is good at his job of appealing to the Retarded. People that pay attention to either one are the ones that need help.

I like Colbert's tongue in cheek comedy. O'Reilly is a sexual predator, and an idiot to boot.

When you think of it as a culture war you got 2 of the biggest icons out there going for it head to head. I loved how pissed off O'reilly got when he went on Letterman show, twice.
