I would suggest trying to stay with a consistent chart to start with until you learn what's going on. Don't use a foliar spray. You can easily fry your plants with that stuff...if you F@!#$%UP...Otherwise I agree with everything here KISS works best in hydro...

that is why we foliar spray right when the lights come on and we use a mix at 1/4 strength what the bottle recommends. Used on a variety of strains and growing mediums, never had a burning problem. Now if you use full strength and spray it in the middle of your lights on well... I dont use it on the hydro plants, only soil. I have a hard enough time keeping humidity down in the hydro room so foliar sprays are out of the question.

If you do it right, foliar sprays can work wonders. I'm not too familiar with other brands but advanced nutrients has several applications in their 2+ program which are/can be used as folair spray.
Personally I use VHO and Jump Start and they work wonders.
plus sprays like scorpian juice and piranah are good yeild enhancers and viral inhibitors.
Sure you can screw up using foliar spray but you can screw up with hydroponics in nearly every aspect that you take measurements in.

If you are going to foil spray I suggest that you use a wetting agent. Like Dutch Master penetrator or Wet Betty from Advanced.
The reason you do is because the water droplets are to large and yes they can cause reflection in the leaf surface. Act like a magnifying glass so to speak. Wetting agents change the make up of the water and allow it to cover the leaf better and not to blotch or spot on the leaf.
If you don't use a wetting agent then I would suggest that you DO NOT foil feed. Why take the chance with your plants?
