Indica? Sativa? What is this stuff?

I'm in Michigan btw.
The smoke wasn't bad. It was definitely an indica high. It went down smooth, but the intense body feel didn't last too long after smoking it. only about an hour. The next four hours were relaxing on a couch eating and watching tv. Everything was really funny and comfortable.
Overall it was one of the better smokes I've had in my limited experience.
I only smoked a bowl to myself of this stuff to achieve this affect, powerful, a lot left, but not worth 65 I think.

Hey! I am new to the whole pot smoking thing. I just bought some bud from a guy I don't really know, so I don't know if he is trusworthy or not.
I haven't smoked it yet and if I got ripped I would like to see if I can return it unsmoked.
He said it was high kb (something like that), and that it was the best he had.
I paid $65 for an eighth.
It has a sweet, pungent smell and has no visible seeds.

Was I ripped? Can you tell if it is indica or sativa? Maybe what strain?
Is it even an eighth?

Help me I am a noob and would like to learn.

To keep this as constructive as possible.. Never tell somebody you are buying from you don't know your shit. When I was a weed noob, I acted like I knew exactly what I should be getting for my money (and really, I did.. I researched a lot.) but the point is, if you show someone your weakness, they will try to exploit it unless you're dealing with a fair friend.

I get stuff like that for $25 an 1/8 where I'm from...I have hook ups but still...I probably wouldnt pay more than $30 for that

Here is a little tip on things to look for to tell if its worth the buy
1.] Smell [you can smell real good bud without opening the bag]
2.] The Look [Look for hairs...orange...yellow...ect., also the color of the actual weed is important...more light green personally I think the better but I've had some dark green nug that was very nice too.] Another thing is look for the THC Crystals...and also how sticky it is

put it in a bag with a orange peal dont let it touch the buds, leaveit for like 2-3 days = moister orange smelling buds

...it seems like a lot of folks are saying about $60 for an 1/8th is common near them. So it doesn't sound like you did so bad in that regard.

i was gonna say indica...that shit looks like the couch lock munchy kinda stuff..ive had stuff like that a ton in my past..looks just like that i dont know why the one person said it look middy and you got ripped off...65 is steep id pay 40-45 for that im in ny...the sativa type stuff i had was purple ive only had it once it seems the majority of stuff is body high rather than head at least in terms of what ive picked up in my times..the purple was like stringy and smelled like flowers..the high almost felt psychedelic..made us all have lots of energy and close to racing thought processes...most ive had just chills you out though..makes ya feel heavy.
