Which lamp would be better for veg?

    eye hortilux (blue) @ 6500k (29000 lumens)

    or

    solarmax (veg) @ 7200k (32000 lumens)

I'm not sure what the better spectrum would be for veg, (6500k or 7200k) so if you know can you fill me in? Im trying to decide which one to buy.. ..

    Thanks,

hmm, i'm using a flowering solarmax (gold) so i don't know about the 7200k, 6500k works wonders though...

Hortillux is overpriced but it's like the Porshe of light bulbs and it's an old reliable company. Another good one is the growlux buy slvy.

    Thanks kp, and HiPro.. ..

I know 6500k is what the fluorescent T5 cool lamps produce, and I've heard they work wonders. The Solarmax is a little cheaper, and put out more lumens, but the spectrum is 7200k.

I may go with the Solarmax lamp, though. Like I said, it's cheaper, and HiPro said his friend had amazing results with it.

Still, if anyone knows which works better let me me know, cool? I haven't decided yet.

    Junk~

    Edit: thanks specialist.. ..

i've looked around, all i can find is that the ideal spectrum for veg is 6500k... can't find any refference to a 7200k... are you sure it's not 3200k? (ie, solarmax gold?)

yeah, had trouble finding anything on 7200k, too and I've only found the Solarmax 7200k bulbs on a few sites.

Here's a link to one of them: http://www.specialty-lights.com/solarmax-400-veg.html

    Thanks for looking/helping, kp.

I use Horti's, but may switch over to the Solarmax my self, they have more lums, hours and are cheeper. I have also been doing some reading that says the 7200K is even better for the veg stage and I think you will see more bulbs coming out with the ability to go that far.
    Adieu
