smokinbomb Reviewed by smokinbomb on 01-15-2007. We just got approved to adopt!!!!! I am SO exicted- we just received the approval from the US govt to adopt! Now all we have to do is wait for the orphanage to be accredited..if they aren't able to do that soon, we might have to get an agency, which would cost many more dollars and months, so I am keeping my fingers crossed! We started this particular adoption saga last April- maybe by that month this year our kids will be with us! Rating: 5

Hi BlueCat- We had already gathered all our documents for the previous china adoption attempt, so we had our complete dossier when we found out about the Liberian orphanage.The home study took about four months, but the I -600 was approved within a month of sending it! We are doing this on our own without an agency, but if the orphanage we are working with doesn't get accredited, we might end up needing to go through an agency, but I hope not!
The orphanage is currently only accredited as a school, but they have retained an attorney to help them with the adoption process. This will be the first adoption from this orphanage, so we are all learning as we go. I know I have to be patient with the process, though it feels like we are getting very close now!

We're not sure yet- in the pictures they look about 7 or 8. As of now, we don't know much about them, but hope to hear back from the orphanage director soon with their names and ages etc.
