First off...I listen to hip hop, because I love the MUSIC..to me, it's ALL about the MUSIC. I could give a fuck less if you are real, fake, sell coke, don't sell coke, if you're black, white, if you're lying, if you're telling the truth...why does all that matter?!? As long as the music is good..that's all what counts. So Jeezy sold drugs...does that make his music better? Not even close, so why does it matter if he's 'real'.

I hate when people get all caught up in the 'aura' that hip hop gives off. It's like...if you don't have a gun, if you didn't sell drugs, if you're not from a poor neighborhood, if you don't have 'street cred', if you didn't kill someone....then you're not as good? Why does this take place..I couldn't tell you. It's pathetic really, that we praise these people for things that are clearly immorally wrong. I'm glad to hear Nas wasn't selling drugs and all that...it shows he's smarter than that and started off on a better path in life...and that is a bad thing because?!?

I'm sorry for any 'child' remarks...but think about it...you do sound pretty immature if you only like a certain rapper because he is 'real'. It has nothing to do with that...as long as the music is good. Some people just get too caught up in things that are unimportant...like taking sides in a rap beef..lol..it's just childish. You don't even know these people, yet you act like you're in their click or something...just listen to the music...and if you want to talk about real, you must throw in Jada and Styles...right? But so what if they're real...half the stuff they say is still creatively made up...and that's what makes them great lyricists...remember....it's ALL about the music..I've sold drugs and I like in a shitty part of town, but I don't consider myself 'real'...it's just fact of life...nothing to brag about...actually it fucking sucks...nothing good about it.

You could say Nas is whack because he's not as hood as Jeezy or any rapper that brags about movin coke, but Nas doesn't brag about that shit so why are we saying he's whack? The real rappers who are whack are the ones saying their from the streets and are actually lying (I.E. 50 Cent).

Biggie, Tupac, Shady, Jay, Nas, Jadakiss, Styles, all of Wu-Tang, Snoop, Game, Redman, Talib Kweli, Common, AZ, Big L, Big Pun, Bone Thugs, Busta, De La Soul, KRS, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, DMX, Ice Cube, Scarface, older Outkast, Tribe Called Quest...just curious? Or have you never even heard of some of them?

Do they all suck because they don't/didn't live the lives they portray? LOL!! I definitely will say Jeezy cracks the top 100 MC's of all time...I'll give him that lol. Dammit...I went negative again...I'm tryna get us to 'discuss' rather than 'argue'...I swear I'm trying but it's hard with people that respect the person rather than the music..

Most of the rappers you listed are good and most on the list are better than Jeezy IMO, but let's be fair to Jeezy, he's not a bad rapper. He has a decent flow and talks about the hood while still allowing his words to mostly make sense (which is tough for some Southern rappers ). At least he doesn't completely suck like Dem Franchise Boys or D4L.

They're all actors...except maybe big Jeezy over here...most of the artists I named probably didn't live those lives, but they're the greatest of all time. Eminem for example...one of the best lyricists/rhymers/rappers of all time..hands down no discussion. Do you think he really fucked some girl with his 10 pound dick and fuck her to death? I don't think so, but the way he describes it in words is amazing...not to mention all the other fictional stories he's come up with over the years...Big L...another one no discussion...listen to one of his songs...detailed down to a pin, but obviously over the top just a bit...
