Stinky attic -n- others "Liquid Karma" vs "Sweet"

    Hey Stinky ,
preparing for next grow here soon . We talked a lil about the sweet/molases deal a few ago and i happened to read contents of Liquid Karma -n- Sweet both . Seems L/K has everything that Sweet does pretty much - plus lotsa extras . I know your quite the lil botanist/horticulturalist . what are your thoughts on using the L/K instead of the Sweet next grow ?

    It's hydro drip buckets , G/H 3 pt. + cal/mag. and Sweet or L/K .

we cut the lil blueberry mutant today that was in dirt in middle of 4-farm grow . wow is it gonna be yummy , only 1 that turned really really purple . were flushing farms w/ ph'd water for a week and then chopping the 4 farm girls too .

I went on this thread to let let you know that I use both LK and Sweet and after my molasses debacle I'm not going to change but I've been really happy with both products. Then you got me all off track with that dog photo. I'm going to try to put one on my avatar. Let us know how that purple does for you.

    weedhound ,
i'm trying to avoid the use of both products if at all possible . if you look at contents or labels side by side liquid karma contains almost everything that is in sweet plus a lota other goodies too if i'm not mistaken ? i'm curious if stinky , latewood or someone else can shed some light on this for us both now . if 1 contains everything that is in the other why use both ?
    peace

Hmm - I don't really think of these products as interchangeable.

Did you look at actual ingrediant lists from Botanicare or just the backs of the bottles? Fed regulations require the NPK values to be listed, and I'll posit that the NPK's on these are very similar. But neither of these are primary nutrients like yer pink/green/brown

Liquid Karma, IMHO, is primarily a humic and fulvic acid supplement with a bunch of other goodies. These organic acids allow the plant to take up more complex organic molecules without microbial pre-digestion. Sure there's a bunch of other stuff in there- some cane sugar, kelp extracts, silica, etc to round out the mix, but I use LK for the organic acids. While LK is by no means cheap, raw fulvic acid is pretty pricey too, and the guys at CPS are going to know what's up if you come in for the fulvic and aren't picking up a couple hundred pounds of nitrate at the same time.

Sweet, on the other hand, boosts the Brix level in yer plant tissue, promoting a sweeter taste. It also provides a shopping list of pre-built amino acids, ready to be schlurped up by yer hungry girls, who are saved the energy involved in synthesising these compounds. Sweet, as a sucrose source, also promotes healthly microbial/mycorizzal populations in the root zone.

Given that the two products are fairly affordable( about $20us for a quart of each), I'd use both- You'll get a bunch more bang from the Sweet, as the organic acids in the LK will acclerate the uptake of said complicated, large amino acid complexes.

If your going to pick and choose, run the sweet- the nutrient molecules in the pink/green/brown are inorganic tiny little things, and the LK is not as effective with these products.

But really, your looking at an extra $20 to run both- If you don't see your twenty back, somethings wrong
I assume you understand that we have options on your time,
And we will ditch you in the harbour if we must-
But if it all works out nicely,
You\'ll get the bonus you deserve

sorry crispi I JUST found this thread, durrrr.....
    yeah rhizome has the info.
I was running a combination of Sweet, TopMax (has the humic acids and kelp in it), soil syrup (more humates) and molasses on top of my pure blend pro, which has a bunch of that shit in it already.
hi rhizome I found you lol
