As long as you give your plants what they need to survive,they'll keep on trying to live. How old were your plants,when you put them into a 12/12 cycle ? Generally,the less time they spend in the vegatative stage,the less your yields will be-as well as less potent.
Are you growing them in pots with potting soil ? Or,are ya using hydro ? A good rule of thumb for plants grown in pots,from seed,is to veg them for 2 months,then put them into the flowering cycle,which is usually 8-12 weeks,depending on the strain. If your growing clones however,you can put them into flower after one month of vegging.
You need to give a better description of your grow conditions,etc,so that we can help ya better.
