January 12, 2007 -- WASHINGTON - Condoleezza Rice came under a shocking Democratic attack yesterday - as a childless

woman who canâ??t understand the sacrifices made by families of U.S. troops in Iraq. In a bitter personal

assault on the secretary of state during her appearance before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, anti-war Sen. Barbara Boxer fumed that Rice didn't com prehend the "price" of the war.

"You're not going to pay a particular price, as I under stand it, with an immediate family," Boxer (D- Calif.) ranted.

"Who pays the price?" she repeatedly demanded during Rice's Capitol Hill grilling.

"I'm not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old, and my grandchild is too young . . . So who pays the price? Not me, not you."

Boxer continued:

"You can't begin to imagine how you celebrate any holiday or birthday. There's an absence. It's not like the person's never been there. They always were there, and now they're not, and you're looking at an empty hole."

The unflappable Rice responded at the packed hearing that she well understood the sacrifice of service members and families.

"I visit them. I know what they're going through," said Rice, who has never been married and has no children.

"I talk to their families. I see it. I could never and I can never do anything to replace any of those lost men and women in uniform, or the diplomats, some of whom . . ."

At that point, Boxer cut her off.

"Madam Secretary, please," Boxer said. "I know you feel terrible about it. That's not the point. I was making the case as to who pays the price for your decisions."

Boxer's over-the-top broadside stunned lawmakers and congressional aides.

"We were all just shocked. It was pretty sickening," one GOP staffer said. "I guarantee there were Democrats in there thinking, 'Shut the f- - - up. Just shut up. Stop going overboard.' "

i think barbara boxer is a complete idiot with no genuine concern for me, you, or the majority of our fellow Americans.
I also find it hard to believe that any of our congressional members, except for the ones i'll post at the bottom of this message, nor the vp or prez, have any concern for the Constitution.
Why condi doesnt have kids in no ones business.
Her being attacked for not having kids was an ignorant thing to do, but like i said, bb is a complete selfcentered idiot whom i have no trust in at all.

I also agree that recruiter are people who make mistakes. Dealing drugs out of your recruiting vehicle to kids you are trying to enlist was no mistake. It was an intentional act based on greed arrogance.

I think it's far from her making fun of her so to speak about her not having children or whatever...Simply stating, she has part in a decision to send thousands more troops in..hundreds perhaps thousands could die..but she cannot feel what it is like to have her OWN child taken from her by one of the 'enemy..' She can never know what it is like to have lost a loved one in battle because of a decision that she made. This so called surge bullshit is senseless. 132,000 troops are there..what does 20,000 more do besides create a higher fatality ratio. Too many times to I hear this fucking word sacrifice within the past week and I'm fed up with it. There's been enough sacrifice with no positive and justifyable results.


And another thing...with terrorism and sectarian violence at all time high, tell me what the hell we have done in fighting terrorism, huh? Bush's phony bologny has earned him mark as the worst president in history. Weapons of mass destruction...oh wait, it's about oil prices...Since we invaded Iraq, gas prices have been the highest they ever fucking have been! Wow, we've really accomplished a lot.
