Holly.. i loved you.. dammit today sucked.. my mom loves dogs and she found a stray running on a very busy street so she picked her up... my mom puts an ad in the paper for a lost dog and we get no calls.. the dog isnt spayed and my mom believes very much in spaying animals and shit so that they dont reproduce because there are already way to many dogs.. so she sets up an appointment for today.. she takes the dog to the vet and the dog is happy, my mom is happy, she feels really good about it and the dog isnt scared Rating: 5

When I had my cats spayed I worried like fuk till like a week afterward... People die going under anaesthesia,,,it is not a perfect sience... Imagine going to the dentist and not coming out,,,it happens...

im not even sure the vet fucked up.. im not gonna blame anybody.. i guess it was just holly's time... i just sure wish it wasnt... and it does happen but it still fucking sucks that it does...

dammit today sucked.. my mom loves dogs and she found a stray running on a very busy street so she picked her up... my mom puts an ad in the paper for a lost dog and we get no calls.. the dog isnt spayed and my mom believes very much in spaying animals and shit so that they dont reproduce because there are already way to many dogs.. so she sets up an appointment for today.. she takes the dog to the vet and the dog is happy, my mom is happy, she feels really good about it and the dog isnt scared or anything.. so 8:30 comes along and they call my mom saying everything is great and they are going to start the surgery.. so i guess they put her under and around 10:30 my mom gets a call and the vet says they have very bad news, and its that the dogs heart stopped and she passed away... i feel really bad for my mom cuz she is blaming herself when all she was tryin to do is help the dog out and it turned out bad... holly was the dogs name and she was a very nice dog, loved everyone and altho we only had her about a month i connected with this dog very much and so did my mom and my mom feels terrible about it, and i feel terrible for my mom feeling that way and that the dog died.. sorry for this rant, i just wanted to get this off of my chest.. at least holly went in peace and wasnt in pain...

I am so very sorry to hear this happened to you beloved Holly.
Sometimes...just sometimes, one of our precious pups doesn't survive anesthesia. It's more unusual then usual....maybe 3-350 but that's a rough stat.and still unacceptable as far as I'm concerned.
We love our animals and we pay very high prices to feed them and take them to the vet so we're doing the right thing for them. Just like your mom did. She was doing the responsible thing and unfortunately, things went as badly as they could have. It's a shame. I feel for you all.

Please consider going to aa no kill shelter where the pups are already spayed and neutered and just looking for someone to love them.

Pets are great companions and you get so attacked so easily. I found a pup somone dumped off at a cemetary in va. We turned around and went back and he had fell over the side of the mountain and was stuck in a pile of leaves. I went down and got him and we took him all the way home to nc. I made a appointment for his shots and right before it he came down with parvo. Since it was the weekend I drove over a hour to a emergancy vet and in all it costed about 600 to bring him out of it.
Im so sorry to hear that bud and just keep telling you mom she was doing the right thing and that at least holly had a good loving home before she died.

awww this type of stuff makes me feel so depressed, but i feel you man, i had to have my dog put to sleep about a month ago because his hips were so bad he couldnt even walk around anymore, it was especially sad because we have another dog who grew up with the one we had put down and it made him really depressed and hes just not the same anymore.

I'm so sorry. It's so hard to lose our best friends, the ones we can always depend on.
And I'm sure your other dog is in mourning the way he knows how to do it. We are very worried here as well about this very issue. We have a mother and son very close in age. The moms hips are already showing signs of ill. We are very frightened as we consider her our daughter. They are a huge part of our lives and I'm going to break when the time comes I hope we're able to comfort the surviving one properly. Us adults will be needing comfort too.
