Is there a reason there is a carb on a glass pipe?

Yeah, use a penny or some other object to tamp it out after you take a hit (I normally do that anyways, just to save the green).

Hurts the eyes. I prefer a longer pipe with a carb. Pull it, clear it, pull it, clear it.

I don't understand how you could not have a carb? Not having one would mean that you have to pull *all* the air that goes into your lungs through the bowl. Then, when you are doing that, what happens to the cherry? Smolders big and burns all of your $pot$.

Can you keep a non-carbed pipe from smoldering or cherrying up big?

usually have a $LOT$ of $POT$ so dont really smoke bowls but i can see other less fortunate ppls ideal in weed conservation techniques

    try this:
while inhaling lightly let your finger off the carb real quick a few times in a row. the cherry will get brighter and release more smoke. inhale like normal. keep the cherry bright using the same teqnique. with ground bud tightly packed you can burn the whole bowl only lighting it once.
that is the point of a carb.

    The carb is a clutch
and if you do it right bear down at the end of your hit and kill the fire

of course...feather the hole to control the size of the cherry.

As far as the $pot$, I do have plenty of pot...its not about saving on the bag...its more about not having to pack a bowl every 5 minutes.
