Where I come from, nicknames are important. A lot of times I'd rather people not know my real name. I go by lots of em. Round here in florida people call me Mississippi, sippi, sipp, etc. Back in Jacktown they call me choctaw bug's boy or syko dependin on who you ask. I was known for givin cats their nickname, and all of em stuck. Thanks to me, theres people that still get called jigglytits, fathead cheddarbob, and countless others.
Here's a little backstory on my very first nickname. When I was comin up, everybody would just call me white boy. I used to hate that shit, because I ain't white. I'd tell everybody "TRICK I'M NATIVE AMERICAN". So the hood named me choctaw, and I loved it. After that I moved out of sipp and folks ALL called me mississippi, and I rep that shit to the fullest.
