    organic soil vs system?

what kind of lighting are u using? Low Stress Training + topping, or Sea Of Green? using soil? A little more details would be helpful, but i'm gonna say that as long as you have either HID lighting or a bunch (~80 watts per square foot) of compact flourescent(no tube fluorescents) go for the good seeds. If you're one to read up a lot and research before you start then you will be fine. Most people dont research and this is why most experienced people will recommend starting with bagseed. I did a lot of research before i started and found this hobby to be especially easy to get good results. However, excellent results will take quite some time for any newcomer.

As well as good lighting, if you're using soil, its very important to get a soil that isn't too hot (too many ferts.). I've always used black gold and it works great. I would also recommend thinking about getting feminized seeds since by the time you determine the sex of your regular seeds and have to kill off your males, you will be disappointed that you only have half the plants you started with. They're not much more expensive. Check out Femaleseeds.nl - Specialising in female seeds for the best price. just my thoughts, and what i experienced when i started. good luck

    organic soil vs system?

    thanks for the infor amazing
i thought i would have started by now but i moved and im looking for a job still (anyone live in Hanford, California? and if so do u know of anywhere thats hiring?) so i dont have the funds needed to start, but i bought several more books (the cannabis grow bible and breeders bible and some others). i think im getting at least one light (bulb ballast reflector) and some nutes and some panda wrap?(i never heard of it but my friend says its just as good as mylar plus helps keep light out) from my friend for a good deal. now i just need a place and some seeds!!!!!
i think im gonna get my card soon, seeing as how i live in cali. just thinkin it will make things easier. anyone know where i can find the limits for my county?
and as a side note, i was in vons grocery store the other day and i saw balloons (yes mylar ones), and then it hit me, its the same stuff they make those over priced balloons outta huh?!!?? happy toking everyone

it sounds like you definitely have done your research. the panda stuff is just like a thick tarp with white on one side and black on the other. i think mylar is slightly more relective (98% compared to panda's 95%) and cheaper, so unless you need to keep light out i would go with the mylar. good luck in cali. hope you find a doc who will get you a card.

    organic soil vs system?

i just now am finally going to start my grow, i want to grow sweet tooth, blueberry, and northern lights, do these seem like they will grow well together? i want to go organic, but i dont think i am up to making my own soil mix right now, i think i will just buy fox farm nutes, im thinking the tiger bloom and grow big, is this enough or do i need some other supplements???
i have my grow room set up as follows, please critique it if u feel it needs it:
building a 11x10 ft "shed" (for lack of a better word...)
cutting the room in "half" so i have a 5x11 flowering room, with a 1k watt hps
cutting the remaining in "half" again, but the other direction, so i have a 6x11 veg room (ok not exactly in half) and a 5x11 storage room which will also be the main entrance.
i will have it set up so that from the storage room u can enter either the veg or flower room from it
im thinking a 400 watt mh for the veg room but would fluoros work?
i am going to go soil, and like i said i want to go organic nutes, but not totally organic system, i dont really have that kind of time or knowledge right now and i dont want my first crop to fail due to bad soil, that would just plain suck...
well i dont know if i left anything out but if anyone has any suggestions please lemme know, happy smokin

I disagree with growing bag seed first. If you do enough reading and set everything up right and have all your ducks in a row, its worth it to pay for the good genetics from the get go. Otherwise you waste 4 months growing substandard weed when you could have the bubonic chronic. I can see how you might want to learn before you drop $100+ on seeds, but its really not THAT hard to figure out if you do enough research before you start.

While reading is definitely going to help to understand the basics of a good crop, experience and intuitiveness will also play a big part. Had I spent a hundred dollars on ten seeds when I first started, I would have been severely pissed - yet, at the time, I was sure that I knew everything that there was to know! This was quite a while ago, and I've improved much since then . . . but there's still a whole lot that I've yet to learn. Only now, I learn less from books and similar sources - and far more from experience and experiments!
