Question about Goliath.

I dunno where to post this but since it was in the Bible I thought it would belong in the spirituality section. But I want to know...how did some one as tall as Goliath exist when a guy from Illinois "Robert Wadlow" was only 8 ft 11.1 inches and needed leg braces just to walk because of the little feeling in his legs. I believe he died because of his height but I'm not sure. So how did a "9ft 6in" giant exist? Not too much to discuss really, just a question that puzzles me.

well you see.......goliath really wasnt 9-6, he was actually around 4-4, but he was on stilts and everybody was just too baked to notice

does the bible actually mention his height?

and uh, im pretty sure that the average height back then was a LOT smaller than it is now, due to poor health/diet/etc.

from what i remember he was a "head taller" than everyone else, which we can estimate as being about a foot?

so even assuming the average height was like 4'11'', this guy couldve easily been like 6 to 6'6'' and seemed like a giant.

the bible specifies him a height that translates to about 9ft tall, not just "a head taller"...

this was because Goliath was of the race of Anak, which was a race spawned by fallen angels sleeping with Philistine women. (according to the bible)

Hazetwostep has it right Giants were considered the sons of the gods.One of the things people dont relise is how things grow in stature with the telling. and the olod testament was handed down thru the oral traditions of the time.
LOL the late prowrestler Andre The Giant was by the old testament standard a giant and any one who saw this man would agree he was a true giant even in our time.

wadlow died of poor circulation in his legs (periferal artery disease sp?) which caused poor circulation in his heart. and yes, that story is wierd.
