NEEM APPLICATION DURING FLOWERING?

Hi to all............I am in my second week of flowering (12 hours) I had an infestation of spider mites 10 days ago, I applied Bon-Neem Insecticidal Soap by spaying all leaves and soil (Half hour before lights out) every 2 days for 6 days (Total of 3 applications) I thought I got every last one, but alas I noticed a few of the little buggers last night. I have another 4-5 weeks before my plants finish, and I am afraid if I do not treat again they will be back in full force. The Bon-Neem Soap is intended for vegtables and fruits grown outdoors or indoors. My question is how long into the flowering cycle can I apply Neem soap, and do I have to rinse my plants off when they are finished? Or any other helpfull information would be greatly appreciated.........................G

    NEEM APPLICATION DURING FLOWERING?

spider mites are the worst of foes... go to wally world and get some no pest strips, like 4 or 5, and place them around the room. it'll take about a week, but it will kill them all... i had a prob with them at the end of my last grow...

Neem soap? Please post a link to the product

Neem is an oil from the seeds of the Neem tree. It acts as a insect repellant and will protect your plants if you have an infection and will help prevent bugs from coming.

Soap, is an natural insecticide. Soap, as all soaps do, disrupts the oil layer on the bugs and causes them to suffocate and die. This will kill the bugs.

I donâ??t know what your using, maybe itâ??s an insecticidal soap mixed with neem oil?

During the flowering stage you want to use natural insecticides as you obviously donâ??t want to be smoking toxins! Safers is a really good brand Iâ??d recommend. I use almost all of their products and they have some pretty powerful ones (end all) which work very well and are 100% non toxic.

Oh, spider mites. If you have them it means your humidity is to low, as s. mites hate moisture. You can try misting your plants with plain water once and a while. You should also look into the life cycle of the mite and see how often you should treat.
In most cases you can only kill particular stages of the mite. So you spray and kill all the adults; there wont be any point in spraying until some eggs hatch (so you have to wait for that). Your trying to break their life cycle by killing the adults b4 they lay eggs.
I prefer to use something strong (end all) and just get rid of them. Otherwise your going to be fighting them deep into flowering, and closer to harvest.

    Good luck

Break the filters off a couple of marlboro's and put them in a one pint solution of tap water in a spray bottle and let them seep overnight...when you first put your lights on lightly spray the leaves, don't saturate them, just a light spritz but get the undersides of the leaves. repeat again two days later.

I suppose if you wanted to be organic you could use those American Spirit cigarettes...the nicotine kills spider mites and aphids.

    NEEM APPLICATION DURING FLOWERING?

Hi to all. Here is a link to the Product that I am using http://www.wormsway.com/detail.asp?sku=BIS700 The nicotine is a very interesting idea, does it discolor or leave any taste? I gave my plants another spraying last night and tonight I will pull them out and give them a good lookover! I noticed on the worm way advertising of this product that they say it can be applied up to the day of harvest?????? I am still concerned about having to rinse. It is starting to get cold and rinsing in February might be challenging Thanks Kindprincess for the great info......G

i use neem oil too and i know how smelly it is, so i personally wouldn't feel comfortable spraying it up to harvest either.

The nicotine is a very interesting idea, does it discolor or leave any taste?

I once burnt a hydro grow doing this but it was on the same day I switched from 400hps to 1000hps and it was more of a scorch than a burn, leaves a bit too wet and too high a heat change more than the nicotine tea itself...

There is no discoloration nor nicotine taste to worry about...twenty years ago, before the nicotine nazis were around, this was a pretty common form of pesticide, I use this formula on my veggies, and have done for years, but flush or let it rain a couple of times before harvest. I smoke two packs of Marlboro's a day so I may not be the best judge of taste but I grew enough last year to be able to give away several pounds, nobody complained about the taste.

I have also used tobacco to cure my bud for many years now...I spread a rough flake pipe tobacco into a large plastic storage bin and then put my dried buds on top. Let them breathe with the lid off for an hour a day and turn them twice a week... I've never had a mold problem using tobacco to cure bud, it leaves the buds moist, aromatic and increases their shelf-life...
