Quitting Marijuana
AHLaD: First off, shitty situation man. Definitely not desirable, but you're getting some good (and some stupid) advice in this thread.
First of all, quite the cigarettes. IMHO, smoking cigarettes is less ideal than playing on train tracks: because with the train tracks, you get an adrenaline rush, and you're not necessarily gonna die.
Next up, I'd say cut down the pot use, but don't stop using cannabis. If you're used to smoking 6-10 joints a day, try cutting down to 1 or 2. Smoke them at night, before you go to bed, it should help you get sleep.
Marijuana IS NOT addictive (I'll come back to this point later), although I can imagine you might be craving the high with the whole girlfriend thing having just happened. I'd say any craving you have for a joint is probably a projection of your nicotine addiction. Go on the patch, talk to a doctor about how to quit cigarettes, just get rid of those things however you can. Spend the money you save by not buying cigarettes on a nice vaporizer if you want.
If you're having trouble dealing with the girlfriend-bestfriend fiasco (and you have every reason to have a problem with that) I'd advise seeing a psychologist. I've been to see a very good psychologist several times, and it really helps me sort out my thoughts.
And you should definitely take up a new hobby. Since you're a singer (I am too) maybe start taking some additional voice lessons, or start writing songs. If you want to try something new, I"m gonna throw out a curveball and suggest you take some Tai Chi classes. I think that would help.
I have to get off my PC right now, but I'm gonna return to this thread to talk about how unaddictive weed is.Jack the Tripper Reviewed by Jack the Tripper on . Quitting Marijuana Before I start telling you my tales of woe, I'd like to say how much I enjoy smoking cannabis. People who are addicted to alcohol have a problem called alcoholism. I don't neccesarily consider my use of cannabis a problem, but rather something that i enjoy. Maybe however, I enjoy smoking weed a bit too much? Since I was about 18, I have thrown myself into a heavy cannabis usage. I smoke a joint for breakfast, as soon as i wake up, and carry on smoking from there until I go to bed.
