    EMERGENCY.

Quick emergency question to those out there reading... I got a notice on my door that the complex I live in is doing routine pest control. They will be in on the 10th.

If I was to place the plants in a large cardboard box in my junk/storage room and cover each of them with a black trash bag about two hours before the lights usually go off... then place another box ontop and pile boxes of junk/storage around it in the corner of the room...

1... would the 2 hrs of extra darkness earlier than schedule affect the plant? (would return and reset up area that night)

2... would the trash bags suffocate the plants if they were in there for 8-10 hrs?

3... would the trash bags + the boxes keep out unwanted polutiants (ie any possible spraying of chemical(s)?

4... do you think they'd move things around and actually discover the box?

any and all input greatly GREATLY appreciated!!!

How many plants are we talking here?
10 hours in a trash bag in the dark is not going to suffocate the plants. The darkness slows their transpiration rate so you're safe.
If they are in flower, you're going to have to check for herms in the next couple weeks.
If they're in veg, meh, you should be fine.

As for finding the box.. errrrrr... that could be a problem... can you put them in like a big rubbermaid tote and lock them in your car druing the pest thing?

Oh and the chemicals... if they are in a plastic bag you should be fine. But still if they have buds on them I would try to take them to a babysitter for the day. Do you have a buddy in another complex who wants to watch your plants for you?

that is a tough one..from my past experiance with this.. it is an outside company that comes in and goes in the kitchen and bath only...usually and does not spray anything usually they put a paste under the cabinets and such...if you cannot be there to distract them from going in the closet. i guess your idea will work ..but i would definetly want to be there. if you could schedule to be there with a few folks to cramp the place up the guy would probably be in and out. good luck. go read bobbongs old thread he had same problem i think it is in his growlog or the cfl discusion

From what i understand i called the rental office and one of the ladies in the complex had a mouse. The lady at the main office when i inquired about food, wrapping utensils etc said that more than likely they will just look around and possibly put powder in the walls if need be.

Im thinking if its the junk/storage room and everything is neatly piled in the corner and the plants (5 ~ 1 1/2 ft - 2ft) in a large box w/ a bunch of boxes around/op top. I'll be fine. No real buds yet, still stretching...

Unfortunatly, theres not going to be ANYWAY for me to be there unless I call out sick....

Oh, and no odor, I also plan on flooding the room w/ serious o3 before leaving as well just in case.

damn, man; either way good luck. put a new lockset on that storage room maybe? if they want in, they'll have to get your key for it.

I was forced to go through with this myself alittle while back. My house was up for sale, so an inspector had to come by.
I used boxes to put the plants in, and another box on top to form just one large box. I needed 2 of these for my girls. taped them up, wrote fragile(sp?) ect. In fact I even remember writting " Disney displ." on one of the boxes.
Leave it up to the viewer's mind of what it could be, all the while stacked up with other open boxes of clothing, silverware, DVD's, ect.
Their was a slight bit of oder, but nothing a candle or 2 placed in the right spot with some fresh cool air can't handle.
Everything worked out just as planned

    Ohh BTW...
if you can spare it...call out! If you don't you'll be bitting your finger nails the entire day. No need for all that stress brotha.
i've seen some photo's you've posted so theirs no need to lecture you on how to grow. You've got the time in, but now this is the otherside of growing unfurnitly(sp?). at least where we live...
Over 15 years I've done this more then once. These plants are pretty easy to hide. It's the growing equip. thats the real bitch!
    Good luck brotha

i just had an inspector come into my rental unit...hit the closet plants in the trunk of my car and locked the flower cab and hit the lights. no smell and no light leaking = no worries. to him the cab was just an armoire or something.
