3LB on Reusing Soil
The plants grown in our 4th and 5th generation soil remix did far better than those directly alongside grown in fresh from the bag FoxFarm OceanForest potting
soil!
......well if that ain't something; this is great; thanks a bunch for posting this; i've wanted to use good soil like fox farm, but even with a small grow the cost of using new bags each grow wasn't acceptable for me; neat-o
here's my question: is it really necessary to wait the 1-2 months for the soil to "cook" before reusing? what do you do stinky? do you just mix it with new stuff and pot it right away, or do you "cook"?
i can definitely value letting the soil compost a bit before you re-use it; the idea of a rotating rich compost soil has a lot of merit to me; just keep a trashcan full of the soil/compost, good stuff
