    Living in a Police State?

main characters are "this one officer" and myself

ok let me give a little back story.

Hi I'm RedLocks. I have 2 kids, dreadlocks down to my shoulders, a college degree in computer science, etc. I wear my hair in dreads for religious beliefs I guess I can say, but will openly admit to be a cannabis smoker. Well few weeks ago I experienced some weird shit that ended up in police coming to my house in response to a stupid prank by kids, and they thought someone had been kidnapped and was at my house, long story just not the main one. So one of the two officers that came in my house to search for people tied up or what ever, started being overly nosy one he saw my appearance. While doing a quick search of my house this one officer was doing things like shining his light in open drawers like he would find a hostage in my desk. Also he made a rude comment that pissed me off... I knew what he was up to, but because they were there due to a misunderstanding I was happy to be polite and see them out as soon as possible. When I was walking them out a few minutes later this one officer made a comment about be sure to take care of that ticket for fairfield, because he had seen the summons sitting on my desk earlier.

ok, the real story and point of this post

So on a Sunday night I decide I was going to walk down my block and get a can of soda or something. So I went down to the corner, said hi to a friend at his work, grabbed a soda. Said my good byes and crossed the street with my can of Pepsi and lit a cigarette. I got maybe a little less than halfway down my block when an unmarked police car pulls up at the curb, and who is in it? "this one officer" that had been at my house few weeks ago sticks his head out the window and says to me "what happened with going to court?" So immediately I think, crap i forgot I said I would send in the last of my fines the week after Christmas, nothing major just public defender fees the clerk had forgotten to bill me for, they issued a warrant?

So this one officer hops out of the car, and his partner out the other side and they instruct me to come towards them and put my hands on the hood of the car. So now I am pretty upset about this and it is about to get worse! So I am searched, and I had a small bag of marijuana in my pocket that I had forgotten was there, so not only am I being arrested for a warrant also possession, the last thing I want on my record. So now I am off to the station.

Now there are a few things I know about a warrant, and that is how to get arrested for one. One way is the municipality that issued the warrant will contact the police in the town your address is registered as and tell them to keep an eye out for you, the other way is to have your ID ran while in the presence of an officer and a have the warrant come back.

So now I am at the police station being booked, and guess what?
I find out there never was any warrant, it seems to me "this one officer" had it out for me and made up an excuse to search me because there never was any warrant.

Whole situation sucks because I know what happened was wrong, but I am poor, paying $200 for a public defender is still no good, and basically with a public defender you will get the same result as no lawyer I think and you still end up with fines on top of public defender bill. The retarded thing about it is I know that how they made the discovery was total bullshit, but my life isn't a episode of Law and Order, there isn't going to be any case being thrown out, I'm going to get walked all over. One of the downsides of being poor and not subscribing to the same book of life as the people who abused their power?

    Living in a Police State?

ohh some things to add. While at the police station, once I realized this shady move they had pulled I commented on how they had lied to perform a search on me and one officer comments "ooh look who's the lawyer now"... Like ya need to be a lawyer to know the shit was wrong, any school kid studying the constitution in History that has gotten up to the chapter on Amendment IV Search and Seizure, could figure it out..

It truely sucks man but then again what can we do about it, they have the power to do stuff to people, People should just educate themselves better on their rights but I think the world is becoming more and more of a police state, theyve tapped our phones and now they follow us around, I hope I die before i see the world slip into an era of tyranny

yeah the shit is pretty scary, we're gonna search ya cause we want too, not cause we have any valid reason.

about the police state thing. I read an interesting article few months back on this "war on terror" Apparently the US government was using secret prisons in third world countries to hold "suspected" international terrorists. They basically abducted people from around the world and transported them in secret to be held for weeks to months in these third world countries. Actually just found the story, http://www.news24.com/News24/World/N...974948,00.html

something like this you would think would have been a major deal in the media, but NOPE..

Just goes to show how much power Government and the people that enforce their laws have over us. I can't but help feel like they look at us like cattle.

I was chatting to my mate over the phone quite recently and we were discussing how fucked up the world is (I was pretty high ) and to tell the truth all the conspriacy theories that are being circulated at the moment are just the tip of the iceberg, there is so much the government don't want us to know, so much shit is being concealed from us, the government speaks about freedom aof speech and democracy, but they're all just hypocrites, I have heard about these 3rd world prisons and shit like that, really, we haven't even scratched the surface of what's really going on in the world today, it really saddens me to see the world like this, and makes me question whether life in this world is worth living, It is truely a disturbing but truthful portrayal of the world.
