How do you have mutual friends? When you are older you are going to realize how mutual friends end up being SO MUCH a part of a healthy adult relationship.

Well that is slightly pushing it, but not completely. As you state, it's legal where you are. Many 17 year old girls can be quite mature and look the part of someone older in comparison to their peers, so much so they are "older".

I would much rather see a 17 year old marry some 30 some year old than another 17 year old. Two 17 year olds will more likely have a rough start, even with family support. An older partner can offer financial security and understanding, experience, and an overall maturity. And the younger partner is less likely to be burnt,etc.

I wouldn't call someone going after a 17 year old a pedophile. Now if he/she is hitting on some 12-15 year old that's another story and worthy of prosecution. It's really not creepy in many circles. I have seen many so called "trophy wives" who are 19-20 and whose husbands are 40 or more. In reality they seemed to work quite well together.

My boyfriend is 18 years older than I am and we are perfect for each other. Remember that the laws can be very different in every state. In Indiana its 16and i'm turning 17 next month. My parents don't like it/don't know, but they can't do anything legal about it. I say go for it and if you're really paranoid about the sex thing just make it between you and her and don't tell anyone else. Or you can wait.

i dont think it's wrong, i never dated anyone my age when i was under 18 and still don't now. so i dont have a problem with it, i think you should just be really careful, depending on the statutory rape laws in your state. even if you're not doing anything, somebody could say you are and you know how the law fucks men over in these type of situations.
