    Chetto Sprout/Incubation Dome

This was made using a plastic 4lb Jelly Belly® jar, a salvage light socket, and a 23W 2700K CFL. I used a steak knife to cut out the whole bottom, and put in 3 x 1/2" vent holes, and a circular hole in the lid big enough for the bulb base, but not the socket; the lid is a "washer".

Currently in use an hour, and temp is 78°f at pineapple level. If I see high temps. I'll cut 3 x 1/2" vent holes in the bottom section, to allow convection.

You're not going to be able to leave the plant in there, unless it's a clone. A seedling needs fresh air. It's better if you take the jar off.

My test plant is a pineapple top I've been sprouting since Sept. Fresh greens just started in past few weeks.

I've since added 3 x 1/2" holes in the bottom section as well as replaced the 23W with a 14W, and now I have convection (of sorts) doing some air transfer, and no steep heat gradient.

all right mate can i just ask why would u want to change the bulb from a 23w to a 14w it dont make no sense u need as much light as u can get. and even the 23w bulb aint enough if ur doing a cfl grow u need a hell of alot more in there than that but if u can get hold of a hps or a mh light do so as it will only help ur plant just thinking of u thats all not being funny ne way i hope it goes well peace!

That shit is hilarious Volker. How are things turning out. Thanks for the advice on my garbage can phototron thread. I guess it is more of a grow cab instead of a phototron.
This is not real. It is stupid fun and a figment of my imagination. Seriously.
