hey babe, for about $20 you can go to a hardware store and get a double 48" flourecent fixture and two ge daylight bulbs (6500k, 40w, 3050 lum ea.) these work wonders, and are all i use for clones; both during rooting and vegging... i keep my big guns (400w mh) for my beanie babies. your temps should be rock steady at 70f, and you can keep the light about 8-12 inches from the cuttings until they root, then drop them down right on top of them (cool bulbs don't emit enough heat to burn, so the leaves can actually touch the bulbs!)

i root in soil, how do you go?
kindprincess Reviewed by kindprincess on . PLEASE HELP 2700k too much red light for cloning? I've been doing some reading on cloning and was hoping to take a few clones today thinking I had a 20w 6500k 2' flourecent, but it turns out it's 2700k. the only other option I have is the 400w MH bulb which I was under the impression of being too much light. I know the clones won't do their best, but can I pull off a few successful clones for now and give it a shot, or is this a bust till I have the extra cash for a new bulb, I know their cheap but right now I'm cheaper.
