Hey guys heres my prob.I have posted a few times and glad of the help.I recently put my 7week old seedlings in my grow room,they are in bio bizz all mix.Well i recently gave them to much grow and the tips are yellow on some of them.Also they got kinda heat stressed at a temp of 100.Apart from a cpl scorched leaves they were ok.Anyway i wont to flush them but the guy in the grow shop said i didnt need to do the ph cz it was already set at the right ph.And adding ph water will mess it up.Granted i have grown a succesful crop without phing the water but the more i read here ph needs to be right.So i am going to buy a ph kit from my local garden centre tomorrow.So i am growing in organic all mix what should i set my ph at?Someone said piss colour on your chart.Plz dont say i have to go buy a soil tsting kit aswell cz i aint a chemist and will fuck it up rofl!Also do i just keep pouring water in till it flows out the bottom?Thanks you are great ppl!peace

I use All Mix as well and I always Ph my water to around 6.5. This has not messed up for the Ph of the soil. If you gave too much nutes, you will need to flush to get rid of the toxic salt buildup. That sound slike bad advice from your growshop.

Secondly, you don't need 2 ph testers. To test the Ph of your soil, ph the runoff water that drains out of your pot when you flush.

Now go flush those plants and work on the temps. To flush, give your plant 2-3 times the volume of the pot with ph'ed water. For instance, if your pot has a capacity of 2 lites, flush with 4-6 litres of water.

Thanks mate just read all your posts.Well done those plants looked well nice.Will need to go to a garden centre and buy a ph till i can get a good one from my grow shop.Oh see the ph up and down is there any special stuff,taking in mind i am growing organically.Thanks again dude for your help

Oh one more thing,If the run off is not the right ph do i need to flush it till its right wont that drown the poor bugger lol

It's a beauty. I had a really cheap, shitty Ph tester before that and it was phing my tap water at 7 when it was actually 9 or 10. It pays to get a decent Ph tester. I also use the Ph up and down on the same page. I don't know if the ph up and down I use counts towards the 'organicity' of my grow but there are other things you can use, like vinegar. I'm sure a search will sort you out.

I would have a guess that the runoff from your soil will be fine though. I've only ever used all mix and I've never had any problems. Even before I had a good Ph tester, I was watering with tap water at a ph of 10 and it still didn't mess up my soil ph.

However, I would do a search on how to adjust the ph of your soil because I've never had to do it. If I was to guess (always dangerous), I would do it like this:

Ok, so if your soil Ph was 5 and you wanted to raise it to 6.5, I would flush with water with a ph of 7/8+ and test the runoff until it was right. Like I said though, I'm completely guessing on this one. Still though, I'm confident that the all mix should be ok.

Edit:forgot one thing, a flush won't do the plants any harm as long as you let them dry out thoroughly before you water them again. In fact, mine always tended to have a growth spurt after a flush.

One more thing mate.After the flush i take it you give them a weaker nute in the next watering?

hey since you are growing organic, you can try to either construct your soil so it's the right pH, or you can just sorta add some stuff on top to alter the pH of soil you already have your plants in. dolomite lime raises your pH, but makes it so it never goes over 7, which is great because the proper soil pH is about 6.5. top soil is also very basic, so it makes a nice mix to ur soil if it's too acidic. to lower your pH, you can just put a couple drops of plain white vinegar into the water you water your plants with, or you can mix some more peat moss into your soil. hope that helps a bit.

That depends. If I was flushing because I thought they had nute burn, then yeah, I'd try a milder feed for a while. However, it was a routine flush (I flush maybe every month), I would be straight back on the usual nutes. In your case, go with the weaker nutes and build it back up gradually.
