Considering Buying a Vaporizer
Right now I'm smoking more or less exclusively from a pipe. I occasionally make homemade bongs, but I'm lousy at them, and I used to have a handheld vaporizer, but I droppped it and it broke

Anyways... I'm considering buying a vaporizer. A local store where I buy all my stuff (papes, pipe, hand vapes, salvia extract, herbal ecstacy) has a decent one on sale now for around 75$ Canadian (Yeah, I'm Canadian. W00t.) I know this isn't ludicrously expensive, but I'm currently in my last year of highschool and have too many extra curic activities to have time for a job. Needless to say, I want to make sure I'm getting my money's worth for something that, with tax, will be almost a hundred dollars. There's also the added difficulty of having to hide the vape from my mom. While a pipe is easy to conceal, a vaporizer is rather a bit larger.
Well I'm kinda rambling, but the purpose of this thread was to get some opinions on vaporizers. What are the pros/cons of them in general? Do you use less weed to get high with a vape? Can you ACTUALLY cook with vape leftovers? Basically, ANY knowledge anyone has on electronic vaporizers, feel free to post it here. Thanks,

Considering Buying a Vaporizer
I have a vape. Vapir One to be exact. I love it and I find that people either love it or hate it. I've been smoking for 22years and I have never been as high as when I use the vape. It takes patience. You have to know how to use it properly. You have to read the instructions and you have to practice with it...but it conserves your weed and pays for itself in the long run. I haven't tried cooking with the leftovers yet. The high always creeps with the vape and in my opinnion it's much stronger than smoking. The health benefits are worthy of a debate but less tar, to me, is a good thing. My vape is wonderful and eventually I'm going to get a Volcano...but I've been binging lately on a lot of grow tools so I'll have to wait a week or so before I invest. I can't wait to try it out on some of my own homegrown. I hope this helps and if you can get a good one for so cheap, I say GO FOR IT. Oh, one negetive though...it's not a very social way to smoke...it takes time and most people who smoke in groups prefer more instant type gratification implements. Peace!
Please trip them gently, they don\'t like to fall, oh by jingo. There\'s no room for anger, we\'re all very small, oh by jingo. We\'re painting our faces and dressing in thoughts from the skies, paradise, oh by jingo. Won\'t someone invite them? They\'re just taller children, that\'s all, afterall. Some march together and some on their own, quite alone. Others are running, the smaller ones crawl but some sit in silence, they\'re just older children, that\'s all.

Considering Buying a Vaporizer
if your looking at a BC vapo don't bother ,
i just gave mine to kottonmouthchris on here because it sucked .
BC vapo is a conduction type where weed sits on a hotplate n makes vape whether your hitting it or not , no temp control either , gets too hot n stuff tastes like burnt popcorn or peanuts. and is actually wasteful .
a convection type vapo is much better only producing vape when you are actually hitting it . i used to puff about an 1/8 to a 1/4 a day , like lip - no shit . i'm a frequent med. m/j user . now w/ my vaporwarez vapor cannon i use about a tbl. spoon of weed a day . we only havta pack the vapo twice a day . that's a hell of a big difference man .

Thanks for the advice guys.
Crispi, I think the vapes that are available to me are the hot plate kind. I've been told that they work very well... is this absolutely not the case?Haré Krishna, Haré Krishna

Meh. I have a vapirbros in my posession. I don't like it very much. Running hot air through weed... and the horrible little screen that particulates fall through... Suck into your mouth...
Nah...
Get a volcano.
Enough people have gone through those shitty 100-200 dollar vaporizers and they break and they buy another.
Just invest in a volcano.

Just got one and love it. Yes I hit off the Volcano before, but I'd rather have the extra $200 to get a fat sack.

Considering Buying a Vaporizer
i just started using a vaporizer like 4 months ago and i won't go back! i still smoke a bong or blunt on special occassions, but for the day to day business, i vape. i have one from vaporwarez and it works great!
1. no more smokers cough (take care of your body so you can smoke til you are 100)
2. use less weed (and make oil and brownies from leftovers!)
3. no stinking up the house (though i love the smell, its not practical)\"keep on living, keep on loving, keep on smoking\" ~cody chesnutt

I've got a vaporbox (vaporbox.com I think). I bought it on ebay for about 100 which is a killer deal. Unlike the vaporbrothers, it has a ceramic heating element which I find to have more consistency in temperature. I totally recommend getting a vaporizer.
