hi there crazy the leafs are looking a bit burnt on the tips are u feeding it any nutes yet as if u are it's a bit too early man. the hps wen u get it should be placed about a foot away or if u place ur hand under it wen its reached max heat and wen u feel comfortable that its not burning ur hand that should be about right i usually do that then raise it an inch or so laters man!

nah I'm not feeding her anything yet...I heard that after the third set of leaves show up I should force flowering by turning off all the lights for three days when my sprout has three sets of leaves so I can determine the sex of the plant. Does this sound like the right thing to do?

Plants don't determine their sex until the 3rd week or so. You won't be able to see it until it has flowers or pre-flowers. If you're forcing them to flower then that will probably be 1-2 weeks into flowering.

As for the 3 days of darkness, I haven't heard that anywhere but I'm only on my first grow. Since it came from the same source as the 3 sets of leaves thing then I wouldn't think any of it is true.

You probably want to wait until the plant has 5-6 nodes at least. They'll grow around 2-3 times their size once you flip them so keep that in mind too if you're limited for height.

preferably, take clones, root em, and after the clones have rooted, put them on a 12/12 cycle. they should start to show sex, and as long as you tagged everytthing, you'll know which plants are femaole... alternitivly, take clones, then flower plants after recovering from the cuttings...

Hey, no offense but I think you have a lot more reading about growing cannabis to do still. I am saying this not to be mean, but to help US help YOU. The more you know, the more we can help out. Also, a lot of people on these boards don't like to answer very simple questions, so if you show you have knowledge in what you are doing I think people would be more willing to help. Try the website www.weedfarmer.com it's got guides for pretty much every aspect of growing. Happy studying!

Alright I'll check it out. In the meantime I'll update you guys on what I've got so far. The sprout's been growing a lot! Check it...Again I have the floro right up on the plant and the other grow light about a foot and a half away due to the heat along with a fan blowing upwards and driectly onto the plant.

I'm not saying I know anything bout growing, I'm def a noob or whatever. But ya gotta be a noobs at some point before youre 1337, ya know? I'm the sort of guy who likes to learn by doing with a lil bit of guidance, so I'll read up for sure and have been but don't be offended by my simple questions. Ya guys don't have to if ya don't wanna but we've all got the same interests. And a lot of you guys just really know a lot more about something I'm trying to learn about:jointsmile:
