    Toys

Every kid has a toy they want for Xmas or a birthday.
When I was a youngster it was probably Scalectrix or maybe a Thunderbird II with Thunderbird 4 in it's belly. One of my favourites was a big yellow truck made by Tonka which they claimed was the toughest toy in the world, IT WAS !! I had many happy hours throwing it off steep slopes watching it crash and tumble to the bottom before retrieving it and doing it allover again .

These toys however would be the last thing you would ever want a kid playing with, unbelievable that some even got past the idea stage.

An Easy Bake Oven... my dad was a cop, and a paranoid one at that, so I was never allowed to get one since he had it in his head that I would burn the house down with the 40 watt bulb.

I wanted an Atari. I also wanted one of those hand held things, it was shaped like an owl and had "tough" math problems that you had to figure out. I can't remember what it was called though. Oh, and how could I forget Lite Brite. Peace.
Please trip them gently, they don\'t like to fall, oh by jingo. There\'s no room for anger, we\'re all very small, oh by jingo. We\'re painting our faces and dressing in thoughts from the skies, paradise, oh by jingo. Won\'t someone invite them? They\'re just taller children, that\'s all, afterall. Some march together and some on their own, quite alone. Others are running, the smaller ones crawl but some sit in silence, they\'re just older children, that\'s all.

I just loved the cannibalistic cabbage patch dolls, I laughed so much at the thought of all those parents rushing towards thier offspring as the doll munched it's way up the kids arm.

    I know ! I'm a sick puppy.

i had the old creepy crawler thingmaker and still had a few of the burn scars years later to prove it. never had the jarts, but had friends that did. i remember that at the time it seemed strange to be tossing these mini javelins at my best friend and have him aiming them back in my direction, but we did it anyway of course.

those were the days. death and destruction, running wild in the streets, eight year olds with WMDs and a sugar rush. isn't that what childhood is supposed to be all about, thinning the herd through acts of blatant stupidity. i kind of miss the blood and charred flesh. ***heavy sigh***

I have to agree man, no sore thumbs from too much gameboy just proper play injuries like broken arms from the rope swing that gave way when 20 kids decide they all want to be on it at the same time .
