well a mod moved me thread to the ardace games board.


LETS BE HONEST it aint never gonna get another reply there is it? i mean u may as well just close the thread cos im not gonna get any answeres in the arcade baord am i ? no one goes there for gods sake so plz would you leave this here so i at least get a couple of replies,

You can't play XBL by connecting to your PC... (well not very easily, this is a bad idea imo)

You have to connect via Cat5/6 to your dsl/cable modem, or to a router.

Or have a wireless router, and buy the wireless kit for the xbox.

Yea you're right, you're gonna have to keep reminding us about your situation because that thread is gonna mold over and die in the gaming forum. It seems to be one of those categories that just no one goes to.

did you try what i said with the modem connected to your laptop then the ethnet cable going straight from your laptop to the xbox

if not try plugging it straight from your modem into your xbox via ethent cable i know this means you wount be able to surf while playing but handy if u just wana get on xbl asap.

does your internet service provider derinatly support xbox live, i had the xbox live starter kit for a yer because aol silver didnt support it lol.

AOL anything is screwy. Not bashing those who have it, but I've never in my life got AOl to work the say I want. Josh is right though, if you're going through a wacky isp like aol, you may be SOL.

MY MODEM HAS NO ETHERNET PLUG

it has one line coming straight out which is usb...and the other end which is telephone jack, ive linked the xbox direct to the laptiop with the network cable...but still nothing its like its all conencted its just not using the connection.

i dont get it.

if u look at the pics ive put in the other thread itll give ya in idea of what i mean but yeah its a bloody joke,

So you've tried connecting through ICS right? If you've having trouble with that, then I think that's where we need to troubleshoot. some more info please, what OS are you running (so I can find the steps for it)?

ntlworld adsl broadband 2mbps
its a speedtouch modem i think,

ive plug the cable in xbox and laptop gone onto my internet conenction (freedom broadband icon) and check alow internet sharing,.,,,, but still nothing,




also thank you very uhc for taking the intrest to help me is pissing me off soooo fucking muhc its unbeleivable....i mean 2 years ago alll consoles were plug n play.....now u gotta do all this setup bullshit most of it seem more liek work then play lol

So what happens when you try to connect xbl? When you enabled ICS did you get an error message of any kind? Also, are you running service pack 2? Oh and one last thing for now, are you using regualr ethernet cables, or crossever cable? I'm pretty sure that its gonna need to be crossover to work.
