NEW EcoPlus 6" Inline Fan Whining and whaling! WTF?

Any ones Eco Plus fans whine and whale? Mines brand new got it out of the box hooked it up, way too much power, so I got a varible rotary knob installed on the cord. You have to sit there a mess with the knob for like ten min to get the loud whaling and whining kept to a min.

This sucks, I bought this fan in order to move air fast and quite. Anyone else had these problems?

Oh yea its hooked to a 1khps cool tube.

Anyone recommend a brand of fans thats super quite? I've been looking at ellicent or whatever.

This is the hydroponic forum. This should be moved to the Indoor Growing or General section of Cultivation. Fans are not hydro specific.

You get what you pay for in a fan. A $200 fan wont perform like a $300 fan. I use Fantech, Elicient, Vortex, and Can-Fan. Ive had not a single issue. They all are around the same sound, the Fantech is a little louder.

i have 1-6" vortex -n- 2-6" hurricanes and have no probs. hope you have a warranty .

Hmmm, did it make those noises before you put the knob on?

With out the knob on its way too much power.. It makes the same noises its just muffled by all the air.

Do you think this could be a problem?
