It'd be a great help me to, it'd make the song alot better without the crappy lyrics.

I dont think that is possible. When you are making a song, the beat, lyrics or whatever different elements are going into it are all separate, put once you export it as a .mp3 or whatever other music files there are, all the stuff gets combined.
Example: When you use photshop, you can have as many layers as you want, and if you save it as a .psd (can only be viewed in photshop) you can always go back and change the layers around. But if you saved it as a JPEG or BMP or GIF its is permanently gunna be like that and you cant make any changes to a specific layer, just the drawing as a whole.

I know, i was in a band and did alot of recording. There is software around to do it, so i know it can be done, but as far as i know you have to buy the software and oim not spending money. But it's ok, my mate did it for me last night.

to be honest ive search for said software for years only to find they all pretty much dont work ...your better off trying to find a accapella version of the tune,

I've seen it done... my [asshole] ex was a postproduction guy... it just takes a lot of tweaking but it can be done... just like how you can edit out the background noise as soon as you isolate what part of the signal it is... same with vocals.

Hey, Chisme, I am pretty sure accapella is the vocal only, and instrumental is music without vocals.
