Just switched to 12/12, yellowing on new growth. inside
my plants have been under 24x0 since sprouting. They just completed their first dark cycle. When the lights came back on the new growth is a lot lighter than the rest of the plant... maybe not yellow, much but a much lighter green.
Is this normal? I also changed my nutes up yesterday just before the dark cycle, so its hard to tell if its the flowering or the nutes.
I went from the "vegetative" forumula to the "transitional" formula.
Basically i have a base, a veg, and flower.. was just using base and veg, now im using some base, some, veg, and some flower.. in a week or so i'll go to just base and flower, and i'll also switch my MH over to the HPS (both 400w), but i heard you should give it a week or maybe two into flowering before doing so. I'm growing aeroponically and my nutes are around 750PPM
i'll post pics tonight, just concerned about the yellowing, which is only on new growth, but on all 4 plantsnoty johnson Reviewed by noty johnson on . The yellowing is perfectly normal. It's been explained to me that your plant is going to start using up the nitrogen in the leaves which causes the yellowing. Mine did the exact same thing and don't worry, it'll get even worse in the future but it's still totally normal. Post some pics so I can be certain. As for the switching of lights I'm not sure except by my own experience...I switched over to HPS right away. I've also heard that it's a good idea to give them, before the transition, 24 hours of darkness to speed up the process a bit. I didn't do this so I'm not sure if it works. There are lots of pros on this site, I'm sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction. Peace and happy growing!
Please trip them gently, they don\'t like to fall, oh by jingo. There\'s no room for anger, we\'re all very small, oh by jingo. We\'re painting our faces and dressing in thoughts from the skies, paradise, oh by jingo. Won\'t someone invite them? They\'re just taller children, that\'s all, afterall. Some march together and some on their own, quite alone. Others are running, the smaller ones crawl but some sit in silence, they\'re just older children, that\'s all.

the yellow your talking about is normal, as it grows out it will turn a darker green like the rest of the plant, during flower some leaves will yellow and fall off as well but not usually until week 5.

as far as a long dark period, i heard that but only coming from 18x6.. if you are coming from 24x0, its not necessary
i'll get pics posted asap, but thanks for the quick response! Anyone else have input on when to switch the bulb to HPS
