Halliburton has been invilved in every rebuilding effort dating back to Viet Nam. They consistantly win bids for this type of work simply due to the fact that they are one of only three companies worldwide who do much of what they do, the only company who does all of what they do. Even Clinton awarded bids to Halliburton for rebuilding contracts in Bosnia. Of course, this little tidbit of information will never be included in a major media operation's report as it would take some of the heat off Bush. Notice how everytime Halliburton is mentioned by the media it is followed by the mention of Dick Cheney. Everyone knows by now that he was formerly head of the company, but the media feels it necessary to drive this point home.

I never said anything relating to the fact that Americas economy would collapse if oil was gone, and im sure it would. the only reason i dont like oil is because its destroying our environment, and George Bush isnt doing shit to help it. Not only is he the worst president in history, he is the cause of this horrible environment, just because hes NOT doing anything to help it. The only reason why the combustion engine is so reliable is becaue it manufactures millions of cars, trucks, semis, buses etc.... If hydrogen cars were given a chance to excel, it could save alot of money, and the environment. But since George Bush makes his living off of oil, theres no way in hell thats ever gonna happen in America.

Don't get me started on the environment. We have been told for the last 40 years now how we "evil" Americans are destroying it. Yet, today's air and water are cleaner than they were then. If you want to talk about fear mongering, nobody does it better than the environmental crowd. I don't disagree with you that the combustion engine is a filthy beast. My point is that all other technologies have a way to go before they can become suitable replacements. Even when that happens, it will take a while to get everyone up to speed. I don't know about you, but I don't have an extra $15-$20 grand in the bank right now for a brand new hydrogen car. Reality dictates that the gas engine is with us for at least another 20 years.

I don't quite understand this bitter hatred of Bush that is so consistent from the left, though I don't hold it against you. I, myself have many problems with his policies, on immigration and entitlement issues to name a few. But to blame this one president for all of the evildoings in the world is quite naive. I stand by my earlier comments on Iraq and his entire foreign policy agenda. One more suggested reading would be the US Constitution. It explains how the president's primary responsibility is to protect the US, its citizens and its sovereignty. I am not saying that oil isn't a factor. Someday, when Iraq is rebuilt and the pumps are flowing freely, yes, a western friendly oil rich country will be a great benefit to all of us. The other huge benefactor will be the Iraqi people who have just been released from 35 years of unadulterated hell. More power to them, I say.

Truth of the matter is, unfortunately we will not see the many positives that will come from our actions in Iraq for many years. I still believe that it was the right thing to do, as do 93% of those who are serving there on the ground

I'm all for a strong Military, but this pre-emptive vullshit is about as UnAmerican as it gets... Arn't we innocent until proven guilty? Does our individual philosophies not recosile with National philosophies?

Weather is also making dramatic changes, every state has broken some kind of record for being too hot, or too cold. Im not sure if its the increased greenhouse effect, or if the environment itself is changing.

Hydrogen cars mark a new era, but I know thats not gonna happen in Corporate America, too many RICH people would lose money, so obviously theyll do anything to stop the hydrogen cars from expanding. Also, Japan has just made a Hydrogen car that drove around the whole country on water, and nothing else. They would expand the rate of hydrogen cars distributed, but they dont have the proper funds to do so, and no one seems to care.

I don't have the time to proove to you all of the reasons how and why the Clinton presidency was a total disaster, but I could if I had to. I don't hate the man though, and took no pleasure in the news of his recent health issues.

As to your perception of Republicans, they are misconceptions and that would also take me several pages to point out. What I find interesting though is how Democrats are always complaining that Republicans are trying to scare people when it is them who hoodwink voters every election cycle with threats of lost Soc. Security, civil liberties, voter suppression and destruction of the environment and the world as we know it if Republicans are elected. None of these things have ever come to fruition, yet rest assured they will again be used to frighten voters in '06.

As far as my cannibis smoking is concerned, I told you that I was not a big fan of Bush's domestic agenda and that is yet another issue which I disagree with him on. That however, is not exclusive to him. If there is a politician in this country that supports legalization, I have yet to find him. Far more important to me are matters of national security, the only issue we have discussed here that is constitutionally the president's responsibility.
