    The Beatles

i love the rolling stones, i love led zeppelin, but the beatles had such depth to the music, 3 of them where great song writers, im not a big fan of ringos writing, 3 of them could sing really well, and they could all play their instraments very well, i think george is such an underrated guitarist

And just so you know The Rolling Stones had basically the same stick as The Beatles from 1966-1970. Early on however they copyed The Kinks more.

And how is Robert Plant singing a accoustic folk song tougher then John Lennon singing an acoustic folk song, or how Is She's So Heavy, Helter Skelter etc.. any less hard then LZ stuff.
Okay. We all have our own opinion.

And so you know, it's not the acoustic songs I like of Zeppelin. In fact, there are very few acoustic tracks I enjoy of Zeppelin. I enjoy their early workings the most. Along with the Yardbirds as well. It was more bluesy rock. Not that Houses of the Holy weren't good albums, but I enjoy their early workings the most.

All I know is that Beatles aren't around anymore, neither are The Kinks, and the Stones are still rocking out at ages 60, so they must be something right. Although I never listen to their new stuff.

I really enjoy John Lennon's work on his own. The Beatles started quite young I believe, at age 17 I think, something like that, so of course their early work will be directed towards a younger audience, which is pop music. Their later workings when they all found their own identity, some good songwriting was done. I actually have The Beatles Anthology 2 CD here, and I do enjoy it. It was their early workings I didn't care for. It was too sweet for me, but a few albums later they were growing and maturing in songwriting.

We all have our own tastes, and I was just saying mine. I agree, some songs Plant has written have been fairy, but that is simlair to the Beatles early workings too.

Nowhere Man, I thought I would be the only one to put this one down but someone else did.

"He's a real nowhere man, living in his his nowhere land, making all his nowhere plans, for nobody."

John Lennon was having problems with his first wife during this album, nobody knew about his first wife to keep the band seem like they were bachelors or whatever. I think the problems in his life reflect the lyrics.

When he started to grow up and got out of being a pop image, I think his lyrics def. reflected the problems in his life. That's why I like him the most out of them all. When he went on his own he was making music for a cause, not for an image.

From what I've read, the guy suffered from depression most of his life. Poor guy. That's rough to deal with as modern medicine wasn't really around to help him out.
