Chrissy.
I've got a thread posted trying to get some advice from a couple guys who used to post a lot when I first joined. However it seems you've got a good hold on techniques so I think you're as good a person to ask as any.
I've got a closet grow planned, but I am unsure on how to go about doing it. It will be in a walkin closet, but the closet is not entirely dedicated to it. Stealth is a big issue as it is in an apt and, the lady is concerned as am I, lol.
I dont know if getting a cabinet for inside closet would be the best as it seems like it would be the most stealthy. But I really like the panda plastic and 2x4s because not only is it a remarkably less initial set-up cost, but it looks that it can be competly broken down in about half an hour if need be.
What do you think, Im tryin to get some ideas but thus far no one seems to want to put their input.
P.S. Have you seen posts by Jamstigator lately?
Respect.

HAven't ever come across that guy vibrations, sorry. On a better note I see your closet in my head and an idea, but I need more details, deminsions, whether you can used existing walls, or whether you want to build a full cab within the closet. How many plants are you planning on, the light system, cooling, side lighting? Fill me in and I'll work on helping you through the build. draw me pics.

Alright, I am not 100% sure on the closets' dimesions as it is in the works. However most apt walk-in closets are around the same size. I plan on going soil, purely organic. Using CFLs and maybe some flouro tubes for some extra lighting during the vegatative state. For the flowering I was planning on a 250w HPS, but that may all depend on if I can afford it when the time comes. Otherwise an array of CFLs.
I have been doing my research and know that CFLs arent the best choice, but there can be some good grows acheived with it. If using a cab I was going to order some light-proof louvre vents that are commonly used in dark rooms. These would serve as intake vents with an inline fan at the top of the cab extracting to a carbon filter.
Im imagining a cab between 6-7' being sectioned off into two chambers. The lower half being the flower chamber measuring at least 4' the other 2-3' would be the veg chamber, this is another reason why CFLs will be used, due to the ability to get close to the lights without any problems.
Your panda box seems like it would work in the closet using up one part of the wall, and would be much cheaper than having to by a cabinet. However it was ever seen the plastic box may raise suspicion. This is my biggest dillema.
If using the Panda box I would like to keep it small being 3' wide, and 2' deep. This is a personal grow, being able to have a box full of clean, tasty bud for a spliff seems like heaven, as you already know.
Thanks for the willingness to help, you can post in my thread that I had mention previously, or just using yours its entirely up to you. I am subscribed to this one anyways.
Stay Fresh.

Why not just camoflouge the box with a curtain that could breath. Plus think, what are the chances of someone snooping through your closet. The other theought I had for you is that you could use hinges to connect your walls or your box, that way you can pull the pins and take it down fast or maybe pull out the middle section to make either room larger as needed. I'm sorry I don't know much about cfls, but I do know it won't get too hot but still don't neglect air movement even if you don't have a temp issue.
The other suggestion I have is tho at lease use panda plastic for the floor and let it go 6 inches up the wal so if there are and spills it's contained and sealed and easier to keep clean.

Yah, you've got a point about the chances of someone looking into my closet, I guess it was mainly if the maitenance people need to go in there, plus I plan on changing the door knob so it can lock.
I am somewhat comfused about the plan for the hinges or pins for the box. Lets say I choose to go the way of the panda film, maybe we can work together to make a gnarly section.
Is your panda box sectioned off into a veg and flower chamber? I think that is something that I would like to do, but do you think it would require having two carbon filters?

The panda room is my flower room I have a clone chamber and veg chamber in an old dryer. With thw hinges you would have to build the walls independently. So each wall would have to be built out of a frame of 2x4s then covered with Panda. Then you join the walls with the hinges, so if you ever have to move just pull the pins the walls can be taken apart and in your next place just put it back togather. As for the part to separate the sections think of a door with hinges on both sides acting as a horizontal surface, if you place the hinges in the right direction when you pull the pin that holds the hinge togather out you can remove the divider and replace it easy.

Looking good Farmer, how long is your strain of Afghani supposed to take?
Well I've been busy and still am so I'll see how much I can tell you.
I began my harvest of the Afghanis. I took the tops off 2 after 12 hours of dark, and the other after 36 hours of dark. I clipped the first bud and was holding it but not expecting it to weigh what it did and it toppled over out of my hand, lol, a little dog fur that's all. I have them hanging in a carboard box with some air moving through, I took off the fan leaves but left the rest for later.
My northerns are having def problems still. First it was Mg, and now I thought it was Ca but it could be Boron, the good news is they are all treated with the same product. So I increased my Cal/Mg. I figure they have 2-3 weeks more.
The Afghanis remaining buds are quite immature so I think I could need another 2 weeks for them to finish, so I fed them today to give them a boost and will continue R/O water after that.
I shut the clones down since I have no need nor room for them. I found mite on two plants in the dryer but they are separate and very isolated so hopefully they came in with them and they aren't swelling. I threw them out I'm running out of room anyways. The vegging plants are very happy and are taking off right now. I keep trying to load pics but they aren't working.
I sprayed for mites again today and cleaned the room top to bottom. Still no nopest strips, didn't come in with grow shops order.
I'm Double posting this in my log and the Womans war.
