I think there needs to be a balance like you mentioned Friv. I had a conversation with someone whose entire life is going to Dead shows and tripping on cid and shrooms and traveling around the country to see differant jam bands preform and just trip while at these shows. He owns only the bare necessities to live and is a very conscious person, a true hippy. I asked him if he ever wished he led a life that involved a family and a career. His response didnt surprise me much , he felt like he belonged there, an outcast from society and the people at those shows he was there with was his family and wouldnt trade it for anything. It really made him very happy and I could see that

I personally dont think I could emmerse myself in something like that and not have a balance that life has to offer, there are just to many roads to take and I want a bit of everything and be happy

I tend to look more at the big picture but I guess this goes back to why we smoke in the first place. If you enjoy what your doing when high I guess it doesnt matter if your doing stupid shit or just sitting around. Who am i to judge really? Im trying to understand the mentality behind someone who smokes or drinks to get retarded but maybe im overanalzying it

Maybe its my ambitious nature but I cant just sit there and not do anything (unless im watching Mr. Show, or family guy, or some trippy movie that makes me think) it seems like my best highs are when im talking philosophy with my brother or debating an issue. everyone does stupid stuff but thoes who do stupid things and recognize them as mistakes and learn from them are the smart ones. people who routinely do stupid things are stupid people. Thoes people are the same ones who attract attention and get pinched for noise complaints, fighting, vandalizing, etc and should be avoided. If they are arrested and you find yourself being arrested as well, it was certainly not intentional but you will be arrested and face the consiquences none the less. The nail that sticks out is the first to be hammered.
