Seeds don't pollinate anything. The male plant grows little balls instead of buds like the female. These sacks contain pollen, and they will burst if left long enough. The pollen floats to the females, sticks to a pistil and fertilizes the plant. Then seeds grow in the female plant. You can pick out the seeds as she grows, but it won't help lessen the effect (as far as I know anyway).
