Yes, St. Helens rides, been doing them for years. I live right at that exit off I-5. Cougar takes me about 20 min to reach. I also am right on the Columbia river so water sports are routine as well. Did you go up to look out point? I usually run all the way to hwy 12, have lunch and turn back.

this lookout? this was where we ended up stopping and turning around. i guess it was the "destination" technically. the miles and miles of twisties before this were AWESOME. of course, i got one gnarly tank slapper from a big lift right at the apex of my turn... scary shit!

How many of you guys are hardcore bikers ?

I mean people like myself who will ride whenever they get the chance, the kind who refuses to stop riding even if it means removing a plastercast from a broken wrist after only two weeks.

Rides in all weathers, even if I do have to lean so far into a side wind that the bike is at 45 degrees and I'm only trying to go in a straight line

I will be honest and say that I've scared the shit out of myself on more than one occasion and extreme wind and cold do make me think twice but I hate cars and I will never use public transport.

Yup that's me... never had to take a cast off, knock on wood, but I've ridden in all of it... hail, snow, blinding rain, the most violent lightning storm I have ever SEEN, let alone been out in... and I had to ride the Springfield MA and HArtford CT highway overpasses during it too trying to get home... lightning striking the guardrails... no visiblity and I was glued to the tail end of an 18 wheeler riding by the light of his taillights... scary scary shit but really exhilirating when I got out on the other side to a warm, wet, summer evening that would have been pleasant except that my leathers were soaking wet... the lining in my jacket doesn't zip out and it's a thick winter one... probably added a good 35 pounds of water... couln't get out of my leathers when I got home!
How I haven't had a serious crash yet is completely beyond me. It will probably happen when I'm just out to grab a slushiee from the gas station down the road and riding in flipflops!
I don't care, I'll ride any time as long as there is no ice on the roads.

HELL YA! About mid-winter I always get the itch. Have to turn up the space heater in the garage to warm up the bike just so it'll start. Throw on the snowmobile suit and go for a COLD ass ride!

Got wet before and will do it again seems to be a favorite saying also.

    Have a good one!
