Eminem definitely does not glorify the 'ghetto' LOL (what's with the Feminem lol...it is funny, but you gotta give him credit for what he's accomplished and how he's changed a whole genre of music). 50 Cent does mention his 'hood' from time to time, but how can you argue, it's worked (he's sold 20 million records with just 2 albums so far...I'm not a big fan of him at all, but I do give him credit)... And those others that do talk about 'the streets' are not really 'glorifying' it per say. They are just trying to show the world where they came from and now they lead a better life that helped them get out of that negative atmosphere. Like Masta said, some people take this the wrong way. I see where you're coming from though...it has changed over the years and it more prevelant in today's rap/hip hop style.

imo, all those cd's, people think they are cool and they are (almost) all about crime, mainly (not all, but the majority) black on black crime..i in no way respect or support the killing off of a race..so, i do not give them any credit for reaping monetary benefits off this tragedy (ie, 25 cent) ...but, that is just for me..that is my reasoning for not supporting these "artists", or giving them "credit"...

When rappers mention their hood it's to represent where they came from as they don't forget the hardships they went through before they became famous. Shout out to momz. Word. Anywho, i'm not really a fan of people who emulate the gangster lifestyle. They're usually not the biggest fans of peace, unlike myself. Alcohol leads to violence and destroys lives. This thread is just another countless example of that.

LOL...yeah I hear ya. But if I had to chance to do the same with the best hip hop producer of all time...I probably would. A lot of his songs he actually produced himself though. But at least he's not like Game and mention Dre five times in every song.
