i remember hearing about this when i was younger... does it exist? is there a place (i always assumed it was in africa) that scientists speculate 100's even 1,000's of animals journeyed to, just to die? anyone have any actual info on it?

no yeah i know it's in the lion king, but i remember hearing about it being real, like there's an actual phenomenon of this happening, i was just wondering if anyone could show me some stuff on it....

thanks, i guess that explains the myth behind it, but i was more looking for documented (even given pictures) locations, and maybe even stories behind it.... studies and what not...

i had dogs and cats all my life. most of our cats would hide a few days before they would die. we would usually find (or smell) them under the deck. birds do the same thing. we had cockateils that hid in the corners of thier cages when they were about to pass

I once saw it in an old black n white movie, the big bone yard. hehe But yes there is some truth to it but its not just one huge grave yard place where they all know they are diing and travel forever to go die there.

i had this mouse named trouble that died when he died he lined the inside of his lil plastic house with sunflower seeds and died in the middle no fucking joke it was crazy to lift up the house lil square of sunflower seeds and him dead in the middle.
