    im looking for another dog

well, with the combination of my friend getting a new puppy and a thread talking about dogs has got me wanting a new dog,.
ive talked it over with my mom an shes all for it.
weve come to an agreement, we want a dog that is loyal, medium sized, quiet(this is a big thing, i cant stand yappy dogs), intelligent, easy to take care of and independent.
ive been looking for a dog with these traits and the only one that i found was a bergamasco.
i know there must be other breeds of dogs with these qualities but i cant seem to find them.
and i also know that every dog is an individual and not every dog of the breed is going to behave in the same way, but i also know that certain breeds were bred for certain inherent traits.
    any suggestions?

Loyal, independent, not yappy, steady, intelligent, easy to take care of, and medium-sized? I can make you a great deal on a used Chihuahua. Young man, what do I have to do to put you into a new dog this very evening? (You may now know this line, but people who've interacted with used car salesmen will.)

Seriously, I couldn't really let her go, but there are medium, steady, yapless, nice dogs to be had. Just look at this face. . . .

oh, it sounds like you want a smaller lab or maybe a collie or a lab collie mix.

Aww, George! He has that pained, sleepy, "You're waking me up to do WHAT?" expression on his face!! Cute.

a lot of great suggestions, thanks, but my mom has heard all those pit bull stories and is a little biased towards them (although im not, theyre great dogs) so pit bull is a no-go
by medium sized i meant something towards a weight of 50-60 pounds, but thanks anyway.
ive thought about a lab or a collie or a mix as well.
my mom is leaning towards a bergamasco as well.
the first thing she said when she saw a picture of one was "WOW, that looks like your hair" lol

i have a lab/beagle mix named bodacious after the bull in the primus song "the ballad of bodacious" that is exactly what you described. i've only had him 3 months and i have taught him to sit, shake with both hands, high five with both hands, high ten sitting and jumping, lay down, and roll over. he also has learned not to jump up on the counter, eat the cats food, or get in any garbages. he looks exactly like a 6 month old lab but he is about 15 months old and full size. he is so awesome, i love him. i have attached a picture of him. i would say check out www.petfinder.com to search, and then when you get to the pound or whatever spend some time with the dog to see how he behaves. good luck.

If I were to grow cannabis, I would only do so to supply myself and my close friends. Doing this would take myself and my friends out of harms way by knowing the source of our cannabis, as well as take hundreds of thousands of dollars off the black market annually. It would also lower the demand of black market cannabis, and would ultimately help keep cannabis out of the hands of minors.[/SIZE]
