i claimed straightedge at age 16 until i was 20. then i decided i wanted to know what it was like to be drunk. i wasn't really into the whole hardcore scene like most straightedgers and i never marked my hands with X's or anything stupid. i was just a normal person that chose not to drink, smoke, or do drugs. i fucked my girlfriend at the time like it was my job though. i don't think its a bad thing, one of my best friends is straightedge and hangs out while we drink and smoke herb all the time and doesn't say anything about it. i just think its stupid when you go around proclaiming it like you're doing some noble thing. its a personal choice like anything else.
The above post is fictional and should in no way be taken as truth.

If I were to grow cannabis, I would only do so to supply myself and my close friends. Doing this would take myself and my friends out of harms way by knowing the source of our cannabis, as well as take hundreds of thousands of dollars off the black market annually. It would also lower the demand of black market cannabis, and would ultimately help keep cannabis out of the hands of minors.

Lol that wiki site was funny..straight edgers around here are just the "good kids", not punk kids. They still don't drink or smoke or anything though.

Well, if you think you're becoming part of the majority while not drinking or smoking, you are sadly mistaken my friend. I'd say like 90% of this country drinks and maybe 30-40% smoke (hard to say), so now you're actually an outcast. Nice try though.

I think if you're 'straight-edge', you're not living life 'on the edge'...kinda living like a little pussy in a shell. Live a little!!! Just do it responsibly, and don't take it too far.

PS...it says...its associated with hardcore punk music?!? Wtf...I associate hard drugs with hardcore punk music lol.

See, I don't even consider people who don't do drugs straight edge, 'cause like I said, its ridiculous to make a life-style out of something you chose not to do. Like saying "Hey everyone, I DON'T play baseball! Look at me! I'm a non-baseball playing whore!"

It shouldn't have to be a damn lifestyle, people put too much emphasis on stuff and forget to live their life. Its like emo people, listen to whatever-the-fuck music you want, do whatever-the-fuck you want, but to make a lame-ass lifestyle about it and stereotype yourself constantly is just lame.

You're a douchebag. Who cares if this kid doesn't want to get high anymore? You don't know the real reason why he's quitting.

To thread starter - good luck to you.
