    Growing Upside-Down Thread

I noticed these guys growing tomatoes upside down and I was just wondering does anyone grow cannabis this way?

Here are some benefits to growing upside down.

“Tomatoes get their stability from their stems. The root is about 6 inches deep which provides a good base and why the stems are so strong. Hanging upside down the weight is upside down as well so you don’t need to stake them,” said Laslo, adding that the fruit is better because it doesn’t come in contact with the ground which can cause rotting. “It also ripens faster because it is not shaded by other plants.”

my cousin has grown upside down in 5g buckets. i don't know why though. another freak technique he used, he'd dig a four foot deep hole with post diggers then drop a pvc pipe down it (3" i think) after that, he'd drop a seed in the hole, wait x number of days, and go back and get the whole tube (which by then would be filled with bud)

this worked for him, it never worked for me, and i think his stuff that was grown like that was some of the schagiest dirt i've ever smoked, but, there's my two pennies...

    love, kp

Hey Perp.. I made a thread about this quite a while ago.. People kinda gave me shit about it. I still am going to try this technique this coming season.. I know it will work and is so fucking easy! I have grown tomatoes upside down in 5 gallon buckets. I even grew zucchini upside down in a 5 gallon bucket. Both zucchini and tomatoes grew better this way than they did in my garden. Only takes about 5 minutes to make a 5 gallon bucket into a upside-down hanging planter. Do Not pay $20 or whatever at a greenhouse for theirs! The only real problem I have ran into was hiding the hanging bucket once in the woods.. Any ideas??

tie it to a rope, throw the rope over a high branch in the trees, pull it up, and tie it off close to the tree. hemp or vine works best, looks natural, and people don't usually look up...

I have been inspired. What I am going to try is a reverse LST grow.

Veg it normally for a mouth or so. Switch to 12/12 Hang the buckets bend the stems as in a regular LST but put the 400 hps on the floor facing up. Not a true up side down grow but I think it will give me an idea of if it works.

Will take some time as I am setting up in a friends house as I am to paranoid to do it in my own house. Plants are growing in Veg now. 2-3 from now I will try the reverse lst and let you know.

very interesting. This is going to be fun! :smokin: awesome links...I was buying seedlings for roadside resale a couple years back and ran across a company in the midwest called...Plantranch...I think.

they sold these planter boxes with strawberries that hung like that and grew perpetually; Supposedly. I need to look up and see if I can find that site again...It might be a .net or .org. later.
