munkjunkie Reviewed by munkjunkie on 12-29-2006. just orderd a new car yesterday on a impulse i went to my local ford dealer and ended up buying a ford focus st. for those not in the uk, the focus st is a 2.5L,turbo injection, 6 speed, 225bhp hatchback.I got £2500 off the list price plus mp4 plyer and a sat nav.Theres a 6 week waiting list,but ive ordered mine for march 1st, thats when the new 07 plate comes out,i cant wait:Dthats the color i have chosen,Electric orange. Lubrication isn't the problem with hydrogen fueled engines, it has to do with compression and timing. It's also different because you need a new fuel pumping system, your fuel pump can't pump a gas. But you could work on making hydrogen an additive, reducing the amount of gasoline injected and adding hydrogen, it seem like it would help emissions by reducing the total gasoline burned as well as reducing particulate and hydrocarbons by trapping them in H2O that forms from hydrogen gas combustion.

Also argon gas can be added to the hydrogen to make it more stable and prevent the hydrogen from damaging engine components.

I've got this old 1991 nissan than im gonna fuck around with. see if i cant get it to run on ethanol that i made.

then if i finally get some money i can build an electrolysis tank and figure out how to store it. then we could see how hydrogen fuels really work.

It is the problem when you want to turn a all ready almost bored to the maximum 49cc 2 stroke, that needs the oil in the fuel mixture [petrol and oil] to lubricate the cylinder. Running it like he wanted wouldnt have worked, as there'd be no oil in the fuel [gas] the engine was running on, there'd be no need for the carbouretta in terms of fuel,only needed for air intake, which would be diffnernt, and like you said, they'rd be no way of getting the gas into the cylinders, as it'd float [id assume] si it wont travle down pipes without a pump of somesort, again, a new part to add to the 2 stroke engine, as previously it has been a gravity fed carb. That's why a 2 stroke would never be able to run on water or, as we know it hydrogen.

I know what im talking about, im a marine engineer by trade, and worked on a gas powdered engine [not hydrogen] which yes, is nothing special, but i get the concept.

You get a container used for storing gaseous hydrogen, H2, and like the one they have at Http://www.unitednuclear.com all you have to do it basically intravenously connect the fuel line from the hydrogen tank to the fuel line right before the FIS but after the pump and have a computer chip controlling when to heat the tank and release more/less H2 (see the webpage and go to research and development on the top of the page for info on their hydrogen conversion techniques, not very much detailed info but they solve quite a few problems)

Oil and gasoline could then be added to the ordinary gas tank and you could use a ratio instead of 100% gas or 100% H2. that way you could even run on like 10% gas/oil (which could be 50/50 to compensate lubrication) and 90% H2.

Never tell someone that something is impossible, you just need a little imagination and creativity and anything really does become possible.

It would be impossible to run a 2 stroke petrol oil mixture engine on hydrogen.

Simple as that, it is impossible, you'd have to do so much to it it'd be a new engine.
