How many lives were lost with our civil war, WW2? What was one of the main objectives in developing the peace? Rebuild the countries infrustructure!
Iraq has massive amounts of the World's oil supply. An infrustructure will rebuild itself on its own overnight when and if the fighting stops. It's not like they're gonna have to worry about who's going to pick cotton. They crap money over there.

But now you've got several groups of religiously charged, pissed off hornets all trying to rebuild in the same nest. It's a natural order that's gotta work itself out on it's own and is trying to if we would get out of the way. But they're never going to settle down because, as long as that oil is there, someone is always going to be stirring them up with a stick. Lot's of someone's as a matter of fact, who's interests are best served if peace doesn't break out so that the U.S. can kick back and enjoy a monopoly on all that Iraqi oil.

When this is over, if it's ever over, Iraq is going to go right back to being Iraq, just like Viet Nam is still Viet Nam. We're not doing a damn thing for them, and we never intended to. We got greedy and now we're paying the price. Iraq is never going to turn into some fuckin'' Jordan. The only way to control it is to recruit another evil bastard strongman just like Saddam Hussain if we don't want it to be ran by some lunatic clerical order, and eventually all this shit will start right back over again.

Our best option is to pull Exxon's dick out of our butts, park the fuckin' Hummers, kick the farmers and Toyota in the ass, and start growing corn. (Oh yeah baby, gimme that good ol' American Gothic.)

*Whew*... if you'll excuse me I'm feeling a little insecure right now and have an overwhelming urge to go sit in some daffodils. I think I need to hug my persimmon tree...
